During each week of this course, you will be researching and analyzing the U.S. health care system with all of its challenges, including policy, economics and potential solutions to reform the system. You will also project your leadership role as an administrator in the system. You will examine the leadership style(s) necessary to implement effective professional development for understanding of this dynamic system.

For the Final Paper, identify and describe two to three major problems in the U.S. health care system. For each problem, summarize the critical issues and propose a solution or strategy that can be used to change or reform the system. Explain your perception of the role of the administrator and the leadership style needed to alleviate or minimize the problem. You must include an analysis of how these components are grounded in research and best practice.

Your paper must be a minimum of ten double-spaced pages (excluding title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Utilize a minimum of five to seven scholarly sources that were published within the past five years, including a minimum of two from the Ashford University Library databases.

Writing the Final Paper

  1. Must be ten double-spaced pages in length, and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  2. Must include a title page with the following:
    1. Title of paper
    2. Student’s name
    3. Course name and number
    4. Instructor’s name
    5. Date submitted
  3. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
  4. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  5. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
  6. Must use at least five to seven scholarly and /or peer-reviewed sources, including a minimum of two from the Ashford Online Library.
  7. Must document all sources in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  8. Must include a separate reference page, formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Analyzing Speech Introductions and Conclusions

After watching the speech, write a 1-2 page paper explaining how the speaker effectively used the introduction and the conclusion. Your paper should answer the following questions:

1. What was the speech topic and who was the speaker?

2. What was the objective of the speech? (For example, informative, persuasive, special occasion, etc.)

3. Did the speaker use the introduction to tie the entire theme of the speech together? If so, how? If not, what suggestions do you have to accomplish this?

4. Did the speaker use the introduction to get people’s attention in some way? If so, how? If not, what are some ideas for getting the audience’s attention in this speech?

5. Did the speaker use the conclusion to educate the audience on the significance of her/his topic? If so, how? If not, what suggestions do you have for accomplishing this?

6. Was the speaker effective in using her/his introduction and conclusion? If so, why? If not, why and how could she/he improve her/his speech in terms of the introduction and the conclusion?

Although the forms of abuse, as well as the intensity and duration can vary from case to case, each abused person is tasked with dealing with the scars left from the abuse.  As you can imagine, this task can be very challenging to say the least. Using research to help you form an opinion, which form of capital (social or human capital) do you feel will have a greater influence over resources accessible to the abused?  If abused, which form of capital would you rely on for emotional support and help through difficult times, such as these and why? Chapter 3 of the course text defines these terms in more detail.
