Example: in farenheit 451, the melody is generally played by the highest violins or a percussion instrument like xylophone. 4. How the functions of music (examples: to intensify or relax pace of the film, reflect emotion, create unspoken thoughts of a character, parallel or underscore action, create atmosphere of time and place, comedy, story unity or coherence, source music, playing against the action which is irony, speed up scenes or slow scenes down, neutral background filler) are used in film (cite timing) ex: the music at 7:55-8:05 reflects emotion: a sad, lonely, romantic melody. And also 5. notable biographical information of the composer (Bernard Herrmann) of chosen films and any relevant historical details surrounding the films and the score, including when it was released. Also, The thesis should be the slant of the essay.
