 PART 1
Please read the following paragraph: “Cultural psychology is the study of identity, child development, emotions, social behavior/interactions, friendships/romantic relationships, and family dynamics. Cultural psychologists believe that psychological disorders and behavioral tendencies originate, and are influenced by cultural factors.”
This is the url the paragraph comes from if you would like to look it over – reading this is optional however.
What is the Difference Between Cultural Psychology and Cross-Cultural Psychology?

And please read this paragraph:
“What exactly is culture? Culture refers to similar characteristics and traits (i.e. attitudes, personalities, thought processes, opinions, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors) found within a group of people. These characteristics and traits are usually passed from generation to generation. Although many of these characteristics and traits overlap between cultures, there are some significant differences. For instance, all people, regardless of their cultures, experience happiness, sadness, and anger. Those emotions are universal, however, the way that those emotions are expressed vary from culture-to-culture.”
This is the url the paragraph comes from if you would like to look it over – reading this is optional however.
What is the Difference Between Cultural Psychology and Cross-Cultural Psychology?

After you have read and considered the above paragraphs defining culture – Post about an important cultural influence in your own life, perhaps one that has been passed down from your family. Some ideas, and these are just suggestions to get you started, might include attitudes about music, ideal childhood personality types, ideal family meals and table manners, thought processes such as how you express yourself, opinions on various matters and beliefs you hold, feelings about love, play preferences, and which behaviors are appropriate or not for your gender).
How has that cultural influence affected your development? For example, if your family created a highly musical culture, how did that affect you growing up? How might you think/act/behave differently if you had not been exposed to this influence or you had grown up in another culture, socio-economic group, area of the country or world?

As described in Unit VI and reinforced in Unit VII, the expository essay is instructional and educational in that the purpose of this essay is to confer information from the author to the reader. There are many different kinds of expository writing that surround us each day. In fact, you have more than likely written in an expository manner before. Any time you have written to a friend and described the process for cooking a favorite dish, explained the process for enrolling in a fantasy football league, or explained how to plan and then execute a quilt, you were writing in an expository manner.
For this reflection, briefly introduce the topic of your expository essay to your course mates. This is not a formal disclosure. Instead, describe what you intend to write about in your Unit VII expository essay. Use the following questions as a guide:
What is your topic?
How are you approaching it?
What do you already know about the topic?
What do you want others to know about the topic?
What attracted you to this topic?
Do you have a personal interest in the topic?
What was the inspiration for writing about this topic?
What do you want to know about the topic?
What kinds of research are you doing already?
How do you feel about the drafting process so far?
You certainly should not feel as though you need to answer all of the questions above. Instead, in your description, picture your course mates as your audience. Imagine that we are all sitting in a classroom together, and the instructor has the class to go around the room and describe their projects.

Portfolio Project Assignment: Creation and Evaluation of Code of Ethics Part

Portfolio Project Assignment: Creation and Evaluation of Code of Ethics
Part I. Code of Ethics and Reflection Paper
The Portfolio Project for this course is comprised of two parts. You must complete both Part I and Part II.
Ethics and social responsibility affect every business manager. Imagine you are hired as a human resources manager and the company does not have a code of ethics. Your first duty in your new position as HR manager is to develop a code of ethics.
Address the following in drafting your code of ethics:
Write for your industry. If you are not currently involved in any industry, choose a hypothetical industry.
Consider various types of ethics: moral, personal, societal, business and professional. Your code does not have to address all, but it certainly may.
Include a mission statement to set forth the purpose of your code clearly.
Be clear regarding how your code of ethics is to be followed. It is not enough that your policies are stated; what must the employee do to follow them?
What is the mechanism for reporting ethical violations?
What is the consequence for violating the code?
Address various areas of employment law covered in this course as they relate to the ethical conduct of the employee. These areas may include:
discrimination
harassment
employee       privacy
collective       bargaining
cyberlaw       issues
criminal       behavior of the employee during the scope of employment
crimes       committed by employee outside the scope of employment (i.e., not “on       the job”)
conflicts       of interest
intellectual       property
compliance       with work policies generally
confidentiality
product       or service integrity
health       and safety
money       handling
corporate       veil protection, or lack thereof
effect       of any agency relationship
contract       negotiations
tortious       conduct generally
any       other employee rights
This list is not exhaustive, nor must you address everything on the list. These are some examples of topics you as a human resources manager must anticipate in drafting a code of ethics.
Be sure to address ethical conduct as it relates to employees’ interactions with one another and with the company as well as employee interactions as they affect society generally (e.g., customers, environment, international effects).
Include a brief conclusion.
Some companies have a code of ethics that is only one page long. However, it is recommended that you anticipate any legal issues that may arise and this can require a lengthier code of ethics. As such, your well-written code of ethics should be 8 pages long and formatted according to the APA format.
Part II. Analysis and Evaluation: Implementation of the Code of Ethics and Maintaining Ongoing Ethical Conduct
In Part II of the Portfolio Project, you will analyze and evaluate the effects of your code. In your well-written assessment, identify and discuss the theory of corporate social responsibility demonstrated in your code. Also discuss how putting this code in place will affect your company. What problems may be associated with implementing the code of ethics? What do you as human resources manager need to anticipate regarding implementation problems?
Reflect also on the impact beyond your company. How will this code of ethics affect the business world generally? What effects, if any, will it have on society and the international legal environment?
Furthermore, what will you do as HR manager to ensure the code is complied with consistently? Said differently, it is not enough on the part of the HR manager to secure signed codes. What are some problems with implementing a code of ethics? What can and will you do to remind the employees of the required ethical conduct in your business? What exceptions will you make, if any, for violations of the code?
Your Part II paper should be 6 pages long and formatted according to the APA format. Cite a minimum of 6 sources in addressing the problems associated with implementation of the code and maintaining compliance with the code.
You should submit Part I and Part II as one document.
Week 4 Deliverable
A draft of your code of ethics will be due in Week 4. Submit your bibliography of resources as well as an outline to your instructor for review. Be sure to touch base with your instructor early in the week if you have any questions or concerns about this assignment.
NOTE: Although you will not earn points in Week 4 for this deliverable, it is a required component of the Portfolio Project, and you will lose points on your final project grade if you fail to submit this assignment as required by the end of Week 4. See the Portfolio Project grading rubric on the Course Information page for details.

Expository Essay Final
Revise your 1000-1500-word expository essay about a topic of your choice in the style described within Units VI and VII.
Purpose: Throughout Units VI and VII, we have discussed the conventions of the expository essay. The purpose of this assignment is to measure your mastery of those conventions by putting your knowledge to practice. For this assignment, you will practice the skill of careful revision and refinement of your work as sometimes re-envisioning your writing can be more difficult than writing the essay the first time. However, to make your writing the best that it can be, you must practice the skills of editing and revision.
Process: For the expository essay, you will complete the following steps:
Revise and edit: See Unit VIII, Lesson 1, for techniques.
Read through your paper looking for structural concerns: See Unit IV, Lesson 5, for more on structural concerns. Be sure that you are satisfied with your paper as a whole before you do any detailed editing.
Read through your paper looking for grammar and stylistics: See Unit IV, Lesson 5, for more on grammar and stylistics. You may need to read your essay aloud or have someone else look over the essay to find all of your mistakes and awkward phrasings.

You have completed EH 1010! In as much as reflection is a genre, it is also an action—one of the most important actions of the writing process. Writing a reflection does not mean that you focus on what you would have changed or what you may have failed at doing; instead, a reflection should be a holistic assessment of an experience so that you can apply those lessons to the next experience.
You have written three essays for this course. Please reflect upon your experience in EH 1010 by addressing the following questions.
What have you learned about the writing process? What is your writing process? How has the emergence or, at least, definition of that process changed how you write, if at all?
What advice would you provide to future students of this course?

Disorders Damage to the parts of the brain that process visual information ca

Disorders
Damage to the parts of the brain that process visual information can lead to a variety of visual agnosias depending on which area is damaged. Some people with agnosia have difficulty recognizing familiar faces or objects, others cannot distinguish color, and still others may not perceive movement. A related phenomenon is neglect, which results in inattention to one side of the body (and visual field), so that objects on that side are not noticed. There are many interesting case histories of such individuals, and studying both the site of damage and the particular loss of function can tell us a great deal about how the brain allows us to “see” the world. Such disorders also illustrate the principle that visual perception is somewhat modular, meaning that particular functions are processed by different brain areas.
In this Discussion, you will choose a visual perception disorder from those included in Chapter 10 of the text. You will research the symptoms of the disorder, and analyze the impact of it on the affected person including issues with work, relationships, and leisure time.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Review the information on vision in Chapter 10 of your textbook, particularly the discussion on disorders of visual perception.
Select one of the conditions covered in the book (object agnosia, prosopagnosia, color agnosia, movement agnosia, neglect, or synesthesia) to research in more detail. Locate a peer-reviewed scientific article about this condition in the Walden Library. The article should address the underlying neurobiology of the condition (i.e., neurotransmitters, brain regions involved, or connections between different areas).
For the condition you selected, think about the symptoms and problems commonly experienced by people with the condition and the impact of the condition on areas of life including work, relationships, and leisure time. Also note the areas of the brain responsible for the condition and specific behaviors the condition affects. Consider how your own life would be different if you had this condition.
With these thoughts in mind:
Post a summary of the condition you chose. Include the brain area(s) responsible for the condition. Discuss the symptoms of the condition or the common problems that people with this form of brain damage often experience. Briefly summarize the journal article that you selected, detailing the underlying neurobiology of the condition. Discuss how your article expanded on the textbook’s explanation of the condition.
If you had this condition, explain what everyday life would be like including its impact on your occupation, relationships, and leisure time. Include how the condition might affect your behaviors and experiences in these settings. What are some adaptations that you could make that would ease the effects of this condition?
Note: Put the condition you selected in the first line of your post. You will be asked to respond to a colleague who selected a different condition than you did.
Support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources and any additional sources you identify using both in-text citations and complete references in APA format.

Our reading this week emphasizes the role of demand management in creating a coordinated flow of demand across the supply chain. Experience shows that selecting the best method of estimating demand will vary with the maturity of the business and the data available. Address the following:
A start-up alternative fuel automobile company has a first year market forecast of 1000 units. Identify the forecasting model that is in use here and explain why it is the obvious choice.
During its first three full years of operation the automobile company had actual sales of:
Year One: 800 units
Year Two: 1200 units
Year Three: 2000 units
Using a simple three year moving average, calculate the predicted demand for Year Four.  Explain your reasoning.
The sales department expects the growth in Year Four to more closely resemble the average growth experienced in the last two years. Predict the number of units expected in Year Four. Discuss whether you would recommend this quantity as the manufacturing plan or the quantity found using the simple three year moving average in step two and why.
In Year Three, one fourth of the production was sold in China. The marketing department has just learned of a new tax that will be imposed on all luxury imports into China beginning in Year Four. It is expected that this will decrease sales to China by 50%. Apply this market intelligence to the simple three year moving average method discussed in step two and recalculate the predicted demand for Year Four. Explain how you arrived at your answer.
The Alternative Fuel Company Case paper:
Must be four to five double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..
