The characteristic associated with specialization within the criminal justice

The characteristic associated with specialization within the criminal justice system involves a division of labor. This requires that various functions within each job are earned by those that have the experience and knowledge to carry them out. Skills are imperative in this situation, as it allows for specialties in abilities and education to be highlighted among those who are skilled in the subject or processes. The idea that supports a division of labor among any institution or group, is not a new one. Various species have utilized this method since the beginning of time. Ethnicity, social class, and specialized occupations have all benefited from supporting and influencing a division of labor (Boyd, et. al, 2008).
Formal rules and procedures are the most obvious characteristics that bureaucracy, in general, shares with the criminal justice system. There are rules and procedures that must be the same for everyone involved. All decisions, regulations, and rules come from this area, and helps to protect both the citizens and the institution in various ways. Having a set of principles that are publicly known and followed allows for equal enforcement, independence of various agencies, and an understanding that complies with basic human rights (Overview – Rule). The most important part of having these formal rules and procedures is the expectation that they will be followed and carried out in a consistent and just manner for all involved.
The last characteristic that supports a bureaucratic way of operating within the criminal justice system, highlights one’s expertise. Being well trained in your duties is an invaluable feature that supports both rank and efficiency. Expertise is encouraged and means that someone took the time to gain specified knowledge and training that makes them more qualified for a position. This unique characteristic supports the entire bureaucratic alignment that offers merit based on knowledge and/or experience alike – which can both highlight expertise. To have sufficient knowledge means that a person is more aware, has a greater understanding of content or information, can isolate details, supports flexibility, and is well disciplined in their area. These characteristics all reinforce one’s expertise within a position (How, 2000).
I need you to read that a write a response back in 150 words
In your response posts to classmates, evaluate the unique characteristics they have identified. If you agree with the classmate’s assessment of the characteristics, elaborate more on the unique aspects of these characteristics and how they align criminal justice agencies to the bureaucratic management style. If you disagree, respectfully highlight the points that you feel are incorrect, being sure to support the opposing position that you are taking.

Max Weber’s bureaucratic theory on bureaucracy is the basis for the systemati

Max Weber’s bureaucratic theory on bureaucracy is the basis for the systematic formation of any organization and is designed to ensure efficiency and economic effectiveness. It is an ideal model for management and its administration to bring an organizations power structure into focus.
While reading over this week’s forum discussion about criminal justice agencies that most closely align with the bureaucratic management style, I couldn’t help but think about the role that hierarchy of authority, Division of Labor, and Written Rules play in most agencies. Not only did Hierarchy of authority stick out the most to me probably because of my military background and understanding the ranking structure in it but also because it can be seen almost everywhere in law enforcement and even correction agencies there is always that standard ranking system. That ranking system is kind of like pyramid of sorts that helps dissect your roles and positions in the agencies. Agencies usually consist of a few sergeants that rank above your standard officers. The sergeants will issue out taskings and jobs to the lower ranking officers that are to be carried out.
The second style I wanted to talk about was division of labor. The division of labor deals with the overall performance of functions that are made up of multiple sections inside of an organization. Division of labor helps split up the work load so not just one person is slammed with all the work splitting up the work load will also help out so there’s not a single point of failure.  A good example of this is in any police precinct. Each officer or squad is assigned a different tasking for example dividing up certain sections of the city for the officers to patrol or watching certain high ways.
The third and final style I’m going to talk about is written rules. Written rules stuck out to me again because of my military background and how I have to follow the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Written rules can be found in any police agency. They are just recorded written down rules, policies, procedures, decisions, and administrative acts. While being on duty you are required to not only know and follow these written rules but also enforce them.
I need you to read that and write a response back in 150 words apa style
In your response posts to classmates, evaluate the unique characteristics they have identified. Students are being asked to aggregate their coursework and to place it into a business plan format (called a business plan wireframe). Additionally, students are being asked to review their venture’s financial model and make any adjustments that they may have overlooked through the course of the term. Although this coursework will look and feel like academic writing, it will have the structure of real business writing: facts, conviction, a sense of deep knowledge, and understanding of a particular market. Students should begin shaping their work to be business-oriented and to no longer be academically-oriented.

Consider this hypothetical situation:
David Doe is a network administrator for the ABC Company. David is passed over for promotion three times. He is quite vocal in his dissatisfaction with this situation. In fact, he begins to express negative opinions about the organization in general. Eventually, David quits and begins his own consulting business. Six months after David’s departure, it is discovered that a good deal of the ABC Company’s research has suddenly been duplicated by a competitor. Executives at ABC suspect that David Doe has done some consulting work for this competitor and may have passed on sensitive data. However, in the interim since David left, his computer has been formatted and reassigned to another person. ABC has no evidence that David Doe did anything wrong.
What steps might have been taken to detect David’s alleged industrial espionage?
What steps might have been taken to prevent his perpetrating such an offense?
