Provide the scientific name and identification of the bacteria or fungi you chose that can be used in bioremediation.

Bioremediation is the use of organisms like bacteria, Archea or fungi to metabolize pollutants. Instead of simply collecting the pollutant, bioremediation relies on living organisms to consume and break down the compound, turning it into a natural, harmless product. This technique is often used to help clean up major oil spills. Watch the following video and read the article link on fungi to learn more:

National Geographic. (2015, May 7). Oil-eating bacteria could be a solution to spill cleanups [Video file]. Retrieved from https://youtu.be/sPgLJrk0sGQ

Research a microbe or fungi that can be used in bioremediation and address the following questions in essay format:

  1. Provide the scientific name and identification of the bacteria or fungi you chose that can be used in bioremediation. How is it classified? What is its normal environment? Give a brief description of the bacteria or fungi.
  2. Is there a benefit to using either bacteria or fungi in bioremediation efforts? If so, Why?
  3. How are bacteria or fungi being genetically modified to improve bioremediation?
  4. What are some limitations to using bacteria or fungi for bioremediation?

Assignment Expectations

Organize this essay assignment using subtitles that summarize the topic from each question above. For example, use descriptive subtitles such as Introduction, Fungi in Bioremediation, etc.

what is evolution

In your own words, answer the question “what is evolution?”  Don’t look up sources on the internet, or other places. I want YOUR answer, YOUR thoughts on what evolution is. See the grading rubric below – there is no “right” answer that you’ll be graded on.

Compose your answer in Microsoft Word, single spaced, Times New Roman font, 12 point size, 1 inch margins. Submit your file as a .doc or .docx document, NOT another file type (you will not get points if I can’t open your file). Length should be ~1/2 to 1 page (single spaced). You will be graded on proper writing, grammar, punctuation.

No late assignments will be accepted. Copying text from online or other sources results in a zero on the assignment

Conduct additional research to gather sufficient information to justify/support your report.

It has been established that the Right to Health Care is not a guaranteed right in American law. Despite this, there have been many legal enactments that have incrementally moved in that direction without expressly granting it. After reviewing the background readings as well as doing your own research, draft a 1- to 2-page position statement, single-spaced, on whether the right to health care should be guaranteed in the United States. You will not be graded on which side you choose, but you must support your position with reputable and reliable sources; this is not an opinion piece.

Please review the following document on how to draft a position paper; you are expected to follow the outline that is located within this document.

Write an executive summary of your study. In the summary, include the ANOVA test results, your hypothesis and its resolution, and the implications of your findings.

As an administrator to a health education program, you suspect that pairing first year students with third-year students will help improve their end-of-year evaluations. To test your hypothesis you develop a mentoring program that has three groups. Group one will be the control. Group two will meet in person weekly. Group three will keep in touch using social media and texting.

Use PSPP to analyze the scores in the Unit 6 data set (found in Course Resources) with ANOVA.
