The package must be consistent with the objectives of job satisfaction for the valuable employees in an organization of your design.
The compensation package must include the following:

  • Examine what 21st-century employees consider to be benefits (see this week’s recommended readings for a start).
  • Consider what helps to keep employees engaged in their work (see State of the American Workplace: Employee Engagement Insights for U.S. Business Leaders and Surprising, Disturbing Facts From the Mother of All Employee Engagement Surveys for some ideas).

Your business proposal must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. The proposal must be between three to five pages in length (not including the title and references pages) and must include citations and references for at least five sources (including the text and at least four other scholarly sources, one of which must be from the Ashford University Library).

Director’s Presentation

Director’s Presentation

The Final Project will illustrate how family-centered programs, theories, and concepts support the early childhood classroom and the child’s family. The family-centered approach asserts that family involvement is important for a young child’s cognitive and social development. The Final Project, which will be presented via PowerPoint, will address the following scenario:

You are the director of a preschool program that serves children ages three to five. You are giving a presentation to teachers and parents to encourage partnerships in the education of the whole child. The objective of your presentation is to encourage adaptive skills and to facilitate strategies in which to maximize these abilities that can be taught in the classroom and extended at home. Address the following points:

  1. Self-help skills.
  2. Pro-social skills.
  3. Self-regulation skills.

For each of the three skill-sets:

  1. Explain the desired skills and how they relate to the classroom and home.
  2. Identify and discuss two to three strategies for teaching the skill-set to children in the classroom.
  3. Explain how you will help parents to utilize the strategies to reinforce the desired ability at home.
  4. Identify and describe a resource (either community or web-based) for the parents to use to continue their learning at home.

The PowerPoint presentation must be 18 to 20 slides in length, not including title and reference slides. You are encouraged to creatively address the material by including graphics, visuals, charts, graphs, and/or sound. Slides should be designed to clearly and concisely address the material. The PowerPoint presentation must be formatted according to APA style (i.e., include the title and reference slides and citations within each slide when appropriate.) The notes section of the PowerPoint must be utilized to expand on your presented points. Academic Honesty Policy

Read the Academic Honesty Policy “in the attachment”:

Write a letter to incoming freshmen on what it means to be an ethical student scholar.

Include a summary of what you thought it was before you read it (ex. “Before I came to college, I thought academic dishonesty was…”), what it actually is (ex. “But what I realize now is…”), and what it means for people entering a university (ex. “My advice for you as an incoming freshman is…”).

Make sure to incorporate actual pieces of information from the CSUSM Academic Honesty Policy — we need to see evidence that you read the policy (it’s important!)

Intermediate Business Computer Applications

The purpose of this assignment is to familiarize you with creating an oral presentation utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint while you explore the ethical implications of the technology used in this course. You must also demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively with your audience.

Complete the following tasks on your own and submit your work to Blackboard.

Requirements:

  1. The general purpose of the presentation is to consider the ethical implications of using software applications to house real data similar to that which you have used in this course. While they should not be your sole source for examples, you must reference the Excel and Access Programs specifically in your presentation.

Questions to consider:

· What responsibility do the creators and users of technology bear in ensuring that truth is conveyed in the use and manipulation of data? How does security factor into these responsibilities?

· Discuss the balance between absolute truth and using data to reach a particular goal.

· How does this topic relate to your conduct as a student and in a real-world setting?

Use a biblical worldview to support your ideas and include at least 3 academic sources. Cite your work using current APA format.

  1. Use the recording features in PowerPoint and your microphone to record your oral presentation. State your name, the course, and the date of the recording at the start of the recording. Your presentation will be 5-8 minutes in length, taking the audience through your entire PowerPoint. As you will be doing a good bit of talking, the slides themselves should favor bullet points and short statements over longer paragraphs, but your message must be clear. You may use notes to assist you, but do not read word-for-word from the notes. This tends to be obvious to the audience and makes for a less compelling presentation.
  2. Required Slide Elements:

· A title for each slide

· A unified theme

· Slide transitions

· Subtle slide animations appropriate for a business/academic environment

· At least one SmartArt diagram

· At least one chart using the Insert Chart feature within PowerPoint. You are welcome to include charts from outside sources, properly cited, but ensure that at least one is of your own making.

Part II:  Research two academic major / career training programs that are of interest and that is supported by the career testing.  Write a 2 page typed doubled spaced paper detailing what you found about the major or training program.  Extra 5 credits will be awarded to students who meet with an advisor before Dec 12 to develop an educational plan with an academic advisor.   For students who may not be at a place to develop an educational plan, meet with a Career Specialist at OCE&E or the class instructor for the extra credit opportunity.

Important information to consider in your paper:

  1. Review your Highest Basic Interest Scales and select 2 possible majors that fit your interest profile.
  2. Review your Occupational Scales and identify 2 possible career paths that fit the majors / career training
  3. Through research, identify the type of classes that fit the two majors or training programs and identify possible degrees for the associated career paths.
  4. As you review the classes, identify your strengths in the coursework and assess possible barriers you may encounter in completing the classes and degree? For example, how likely do you believe you will be successful in the classes? Why? What are the possible barriers you anticipate?
  5. Describe how the majors and careers fit in your self-concept and career identity – highlight values and attributes that fit your self-concept.
  6. Identify job opportunities are there in your field of interest? What is the job outlook?
  7. If you are in a transfer program, what other institutions offer your academic program or degree? What colleges or Universities are you interested in transferring?  Do they have your major of interest?  Looking at the courses you have taken or will take, are there major pre-reqs you need to be aware of and other admission information to note?
  8. What entry level jobs are available for your field of interest? What possible internship opportunities are available to you?

What issues do CEO’s face and how might they prioritize decision making?

This assignment seeks to help you understand the answer to a broader concern and that is, “What issues do CEO’s face and how might they prioritize decision making?” You should base your responses to the following questions on your analysis of the company that you have chosen for this course.

Please answer the following questions:

  • Use online sources to identify fifteen issues facing your company’s CEO.
  • Group the issues into three categories: issues of interest to all industry participants, issues of interest to regulators, and issues facing companies seeking to enter foreign markets.
  • Rank the issues using three measures: the legitimacy of the issue to the company, the urgency with which the issues will need to be addressed by the company, and the impact of each issue on the company.
  • Please create a table to summarize this information and be sure to associate each issue with a specific online information source url.
  • In one half page, please summarize what you think is the connection between the key insights of the Rogers and Tierney, (2004) reading and this assignment.

Hint: Your online information sources for the first of these categories are the web sites of industry associations.  The second group of sources refers to government regulator web sites. The third set refers to websites that address country specific socio-cultural, health oriented, technological, economic, environmental, and political legal issues. Online sources of information for this include Earth Trends (http://earthtrends.wri.org/), the Population Reference Bureau (www.prb.org), and the U.S. State Department Country Back Ground Notes (http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/). For the purpose of this third set, pick a country that your company wishes to enter into and undertake the analysis from that point of view.

One obvious site to look for issues facing a company is the industry overviews found on the High Beam Business (http://business.highbeam.com/industry-reports)or Plunkett Research (http://www.plunkettresearch.com/) websites.

Other important places to identify common issues are industry association Web sites as well as the news releases found on a company’s web site.

Please limit your response to this assignment to three and one half single spaced, typed pages. Cite your sources in the text and reference them at the end of your assignment. End your write–up with one paragraph that summarizes what you think is the importance of this assignment.
