· Write a three to four (3-4) page paper (750-1,000 words) that responds to each of the items described in the topic. (Exception is the video presentation of the first topic below which is a different communication form).

If your topic asks you to do several things related to the topic, be sure to do each of the things listed.

The listed topics each have a certain presentation format or writing genre with it (video, essay, poem, etc), and each topic involves looking at a distinct form of presentation (oral speech, novel, visual art, poetry, etc. And each topic involves some sort of challenge or theme that is relevant to modern work and life. Be creative and admire the creativity of others.

Women Challenge their Audience. Essay. Lessons in Public Speaking: Two women of very different backgrounds and language skills gave effective speeches in the cause of abolition. Read the speeches and the background of them.   4. Describe two lessons you learn from these examples that could be of value to you for communications in your professional life.

Primary research– also known as field research– is evidence that you gather yourself. You create the questions, decide who to talk to and where to investigate.

For this assignment you will be conducting primary research in the form of an interview. You will need time to create the questions, and afterward to transcribe the responses… so start thinking now about who you will interview.

Then, conduct the interview.

After the interview, make sure to thank the interviewee for their time.

2. An opening paragraph that identifies whom you chose to interview and why.

Why did I choose a carrier in nursing? I come from Bangola a country found in Central Africa, and as many kids in my country, we go to school not doing what we love, but what can give us a job and a livelihood due to tough economic situations, so when I graduated from high school, I went to study computer as it looked palpable as a way to make a living.

I later had the opportunity to move to the U.S.A , and I started working in a group home with folks who suffer from mental and physical disabilities, folks who rely solely on staff to help them achieve a better life, and I realized every time I left work I felt a part of me was complete, because this is what I love to do, helping people was my passion, and as much as technology is a good field of study, I knew my heart wasdrawn to helping people as I am very happy about what I do. Wanting to grow and have better knowledge, I decided to take a nursing assistant course and became a Certified nurse assistant. This gave me a great breath of knowledge related to the nursing field, which further grew my love for a career in the field.

In May of 2017, my wife and I were informed of the fact that our unborn beautiful baby girl will be born with a rare disease known as short bowel syndrome, a condition so rare that it affect only about 1 in a million births. My family was overwhelmed, and we could not stop but think how life was going to be for our daughter, and how are we going to help take care of her and help her live a normal life. Within a few hours of her birth, my daughter went through a major surgery, and had two more later, she spent over seven months in the hospital, and it was a very tough time especially for my wife. We are grateful that today over one year now, she is growing and is a very happy baby who loves playing with her siblings. Becoming a nurse will not only help me understand and know how to manage my daughters’ condition, but also a way to give back, because the love and care we are receiving from all the hospital staff especially the nurses just reinforces my love and need to care for patients.

I know the nursing program is an intense one, but I believe my academic achievements and with a record of good grades, and my work ethic, are a good representation of who I am, a hard working, punctual, reliable and focus person, who always achieve what he embarks on.

My search for a school led me to XYZ school of Nursing, and reading your history and what you stand for, I believe I will be a great candidate for your program and a good representative of the schools’ values. Growing up as a Christian, even though not Catholic, we are thought to love your neighbor, care for one another and give back to the less fortunate. Part of XYZ’s full mission states “XYZ University is to strive for academic excellence, to take responsibility for ourselves and for others, and to engage in dialogue about basic human issues facing society, especially the plight of the poor and powerless”. Knowing that I will be part of an institution that considers the Social, moral and economic issues of our society, makes me feel I will be part of something great and be proud to be able to take the education I will receive and be able to give back to society in one way or the other, that makes me proud to want to be called an Alumni of XYZ University.

Will take off extra points for typos (one point for each) – especially those picked up with spell check –

first step in my review. Be smart and use within Word the spell check feature. Also read the paper

backward when looking for typos (makes you read words and not thoughts).

The appropriate use of APA formatting is a skill you need to learn and is required by many health care

journals as the writing style/format they will require. It would be a terrible disservice to your graduate

education for you not to have accurately met APA standards – thus, expected with rigor.
