Women and World War II

One of the most iconic images of World War II is the famous “We Can Do It!” and the creation of Rosie the Riveter. Images like this represented an important moment in encouraging women to take up roles that had, prior to World War II, been solely for men.

To help with your Discussion Board post, you can read more about American women during World War II here.

Also, explore images of the roles of women in World War II here.

Imagine that your grandmother or great grandmother was one of the women who entered the workforce during World War II. Discuss what you think her service meant to her. Explain how you think she felt when, after World War II, she was expected to go back to being a housewife. How do you think this time in history affected women’s role in society in general and in the workplace today? If you actually have a female family member who served in World War II, please share her experiences!

Feel free to use images in your post by including a link to the image—click the Insert/Edit Image icon or select “Upload Attachments” when you respond to the Discussion Board. Images in JPEG format work well, but the Discussion Board will accept other formats, as well.

Write a paper (1,285 words) that describes the roles and responsibilities of health care management in addressing this pressing dilemma.

Write a paper (1,285 words) that describes the roles and responsibilities of health care management in addressing this pressing dilemma. Apply the following questions to generate your conclusions about how you would proceed:

Scenario: Pursuant to the 2010 Health Care Reform Bill, the United States will be challenged to bring into its health care population some 32 million more patients. Formerly, many of these patients were uninsured. Some of these patients were seen and treated in safety-net hospitals, but mostly in emergency rooms. Reliable, independent studies have shown that this population is low income and is disproportionately made up of ethnic and racial minorities; however, it is important to point out that due to the economic downturn at the turn of the decade surrounding 2010, this 32 million will include a significant number of non-minority unemployed individuals. Consider that health care institutions must move beyond simply taking in and treating the sick and injured who come through the door. In the near future, the health of the community will be measured in terms of low disease burden, high vaccination rates, controlled chronic disease rates, healthier life styles, and a better educated public. Clearly, the impacts to the health care system will have to be addressed.

a) How do the considerations under the concept of governance apply?

b) What are the major financial issues being faced?

c) What are the major physical issues being faced?

d) What are the major demographic issues being faced?
