Throughout the reading(according to the Reading: Clark et.al 68-81,Attached)  I felt a sense of dissatisfaction and urgency. The key idea I took away was that many people have a tendency to feel they are in “good shape” heading into retirement, only to realize that they are not actually in this state of wealth. The text shows a data visualizations, all pointing to retirement income being much smaller than pre-retirement, as well as a strong dissatisfaction among the elderly population. My question: if we extend the retirement age to say, 70 years, will this help alleviate the issue of dissatisfaction and lack of funds at the older ages? Additionally, do you think living in the United States is advantageous or disadvantageous for an elderly person? We see a lot of immigrants as of late, which brings me to that question.

For your initial post this week imagine that you are a lawyer arguing a case concerning federalism before the Supreme Court of the United States of America. This case has to do whether the power to create policy on a particular issue should be in the hands of the Federal Government, left to the States, or left in the hands of individual citizens. Then, you must support your argument to the Supreme Court by finding and using an applicable part of the United States Constitution.Select one of the following starters to start your argument (only do one):For your two follow up posts you may do the following:

(a) Draw a directed acyclic graph (DAG) appropriate for this model. (Use the notationintroduced in lecture, including “plates”.)(b) Using the template prob2template.txt provided on the Compass course web site, forman OpenBUGS model statement (corresponding to your graph). Also, set up statementsappropriate for loading the data into OpenBUGS. [ Remember: OpenBUGS “dnorm”uses precisions, not variances! ]1From Burr, et al. (2003), Statistics in Medicine, 22: 1741–1760.(c) Perform a preliminary run of your model using OpenBUGS, to check for convergence ofyour sampler. Use three chains, separately initialized. Include the lists of the initialvalues you used. Show the plots you used to monitor convergence. Determine how manyiterations to burn (i.e. exclude from inference).(d) Perform at least 100000 iterations (after burn-in), and produce a summary of yourinference results, for both ψ0 and σ20. Be sure to include estimates of the posteriorexpected value and standard deviation, the Monte Carlo error, a 95% posterior credibleinterval, and graphical estimates of the densities.

In 1943, Abraham Maslow proposed a theory of motivation referred to as the hier

In 1943, Abraham Maslow proposed a theory of motivation referred to as the hierarchy of needs. Levels 1-4 of the hierarchy pertain to achieving “deficit” human needs such as food, water, shelter, financial security, love, and respect. Maslow argues that when all of “deficit” needs are met, humans become motivated to pursue self-actualization (i.e., fulfillment of one’s potential), which is considered a “being” need. In the quote above, Maslow refers to achieving self-actualization through education. Certainly, your motivation to obtain a degree may come from the intrinsic motivation to fulfill your potential or to expand your knowledge in a subject that interests you. However, unless you are independently wealthy, you probably have more practical reasons for pursuing a degree. For example, you might be extrinsically motivated to obtain a degree because you know it will lead to a promotion and better pay, which would help you meet the “deficit” needs in Maslow’s hierarchy. In this discussion, you will examine your motivations for pursuing a degree, based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and other theories of motivation. As you do so, keep in mind that human motivation is culturally bound, therefore, it can be difficult to generalize theories of motivation across cultures. To PrepareBy Day 4Post a response to the following:Describe motivational factors that led you to enroll at Walden and that keep you enrolled. Then explain how these motivational factors might change as you progress from your first days at Walden to your first or second year. Finally, identify at least one intrinsic and one extrinsic motivation that could help keep you motivated to complete your degree. Be sure to address what role culture plays in your motivation to complete your degree.
