Requirements Gathering Techniques
Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements
One of the most important responsibilities of a systems analyst is to identify the requirements for a project by gathering information from various stakeholders of the system. Stakeholders include the users of the system, those who are paying for the system, and those who will support the system after it is implemented. The stakeholders may have different opinions on what the system should do. On the basis of the “The Spring Breaks ‘R’ Us Travel Services” (SBRU) (file uploaded), you will interview Jason in the Resort Relations Department. The purpose of the interview is to determine how the Resort Relations Department works and what the information requirements for the new system are. Perform the following tasks: 1. Create 10 questions: 5 functional and 5 nonfunctional requirements for the Resort Relations Department. The questions and techniques should focus on the information requirements of the system. 2. Include a description of a technique being used to validate the requirements you obtain from the interview. Read also Chapters C, 2, & 9 (files uploaded). Do not write introduction & conclusion. You can research on the Internet or books/journals & you can add additional references.
