To get on your “Professional Philosophy Statement” project, you are going to think about the many aspects of your teaching values and beliefs as they relate to children and learning. For this you will use brainstorming to help gather your thoughts without pressure, allowing the natural thinking processes to energize words into later colorful writing.
Review each question below and write out brief words or statements that come to mind for you.
What are your personal values and beliefs around teaching and learning?
How do you believe young children learn? Based on this, what do you believe your role is in young children’s learning?
What do you believe are other important aspects of your role in the lives of children and families?
You may present your brainstorming results in a Word document using bullets and/or SmartArt images. If you prefer a more graphical format, you may wish to present your thoughts using key words and images in a PowerPoint presentation.
