With the increasing use of digital payments and the decreasing use of cash payments, enhanced digital security and tracking of financial transactions have become significant aspects of many businesses. The executive director of operations of Centervale Apparel has asked you to research this issue and prepare a presentation for the executive committee to educate them on these issues. You remember hearing that the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) is a leader in this field and would be a good place to start your research.

Review the following:

Using the online library resources as well as NACHA’s Web site article complete the following:

 

• Describe NACHA and its role.
• Examine and explain the Automated Clearing House (ACH), its role, and how it relates to NACHA.
• List and explain the key participants in an ACH e-payment.
• Describe the key initiatives currently underway at ACH.
• Identify and analyze at least four digital payment concerns Centervale Apparel might want to consider in light of what you’ve learned from NACHA.
• Use the Notes function in Microsoft PowerPoint to prepare detailed speaker’s notes for your formal presentation to the executive committee.

Develop a 5–7-slide presentation in PowerPoint format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. 

Write a 700- to 1,050-word summary of your team’s discussion regarding IFRS versus. GAAP. The summary should be structured in a subject-by-subject format. Include an introduction and a conclusion. Your discussion should include the answers to the following:

 

• IFRS 2-1: In what ways does the format of a statement of financial or position under IFRS often differ from a balance sheet presented under GAAP?
• IFRS 2-2: Do the IFRS and GAAP conceptual frameworks differ in terms of the objective of financial reporting? Explain.
• IFRS 2-3: What terms commonly used under IFRS are synonymous with common stock and balance sheet?
• IFRS 3-1: Describe some of the issues the SEC must consider in deciding whether the United States should adopt IFRS.
• IFRS 4-1: Compare and contrast the rules regarding revenue recognition under IFRS versus GAAP.
• IFRS 4-2: Under IFRS, do the definitions of revenues and expenses include gains and losses? Explain.
• IFRS 7-1: Some people argue that the internal control requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) of 2002 put U.S. companies at a competitive disadvantage to companies outside the United States. Discuss the competitive implications (both pros and cons) of SOX.

Issues in Ecology Background: Throughout the world there are numerous environmental problems resulting from human population pressure on local natural resources. A large proportion of ecological research is dedicated to finding solutions to these issues. Objectives: Upon completing this assignment, you should be able to describe in-depth an ecological issue, including at least two different perspectives, and how this issue is representative of other similar issues. Procedure: Pick an ecological crisis anywhere in the world that has attracted significant attention. Explain the history of the event including how the situation reached a crisis point. Document as many sides of the situation as possible and include the resolution, if any was reached, of the crisis. If there was no resolution, speculate on how the crisis may be resolved in the future. Example topics include: • Northern spotted owl habitat vs. logging interests in Pacific Northwest • Battle over water rights for farmers or wild fish in Southern Oregon • Fresh water use for development or conservation of the Everglades in South Florida However, you are strongly encouraged to write about something you know and care about. It will make the research more fun, and you will be able to throw your heart into your work.
