I presented you with the LipDub video that some college students in Canada made. One of the most amazing things is that there were no breaks or edits in the video. They made it all work in one “take.” Amazing! If you don’t believe me, go back and watch it again. I have watched it dozens of times and I can’t see any edits. Anyway the enthusiasm and “staying in character” of so many amateurs is simply mind-boggling.
For the assessment for this module, I have what I think will be a fun exercise for you.
I would like you to put yourself in the place of the creative team that put together the lipdub sequence you saw. I have, in fact, promoted you to Director.
Ha ha. Congratulations!
Anyway, what I would like you to do is tell me, in a page (no more than two) exactly how you might put something like this together. You can use a narrative format in a word processed document to tell me how you would have taken the goal (the lipdub production) and broken down the tasks. Tell me what the steps might be and what equipment you might need. Any legal considerations? Copyright issues to navigate? What considerations when choosing a song?
There are probably several ways to go about this, so there is not really one right answer. I am looking to see creative problem-solving, task analysis, technical understanding, and human insight in your paper.
