The intent of this activity is to provide feedback on the artifact and assure the artifact fits well in the cell (row and column combination in the BOK matrix) it is assigned. The explanation on why you have assigned an artifact to a particular cell should be clearly explained in the summary.

The BOK Matrix you will work to satisfy throughout the course is indicated in the matrix shown in Figure 1 for the first three Modules.

Following are some examples of how you should complete and progressively update the BOK Matrix each week for Modules 1-9:

Example 1 (Module 1): For an artifact on a Facility Location, since it is normally a strategic decision, and if optimization modeling approaches are researched in a term paper/project or a model developed, the student should insert an ‘M1’ in the Optimization Modeling and Solution Techniques and Strategic columns (as marked in the BOK Matrix in Figure 1) and should submit the BOK Matrix, the original artifact document, and a separate summary document supporting the student’s rationale.

Example 2 (Module 2): For an artifact on Inventory Management, if the artifact focuses on forecasting and risk control the student should insert an ‘M2’ in the Other Descriptive Models and Risk Management columns as well as in the Operational and/or Tactical columns. The student should submit the updated revised BOK Matrix from the previous Module, the original artifact document, and a separate summary document supporting the student’s rationale.

Example 3 (Module 3):
For an artifact on Enterprise Integration, the student can insert an ‘M3’ in the Information Technology and Strategic columns. The student should submit the updated revised BOK Matrix from the previous Module, the original artifact document, and a separate summary document supporting the student’s rationale. The progressively updated sample BOK Matrix in the following page should be the one submitted in Module 3.

Progressively update and submit the revised BOK Matrix each week in this fashion. In Module 4, indicate the chosen KAA, Methodology, and Planning Level with an M4.
