Part 1: Flow Duration Curve Analysis The flow duration curve for the Barron River at Mareeba can be plotted from the data given in Table 1, for two time periods; 1916-1950 and 1950-2009. 1. Plot the flow duration curves for the Barron River for the two time periods using the data given in Table 1. (1 mark) 2. Using your plots of the flow duration curves, how much percentage of time does the streamflow at 200 m3/s occur for both time periods? (1 mark) 3. Describe the change in the shape of the flow duration curves for the two time periods. (4 marks) 4. Provide possible explanations for the change in flow duration curves observed between the two time periods. (4 marks)

Wireless networks are often considered not secure because of the diverse and open nature of

wireless network communications. Many enterprise wireless networks can be compromised in their

confidentiality, integrity and availability. An enterprise must secure their wireless network from

unwanted intrusion, modification data, and attack on resources.

In this assignment, your project is to install WLAN for a college campus that will compose of both

free Internet access for all students and highly secure internal data network (which stores sensitive

student information). In this project, you will analyse the threat landscape to check the possible

attacks for your college network, and design and implement appropriate wireless network

architecture. The requirements include; internal data network to provide wired access to staff

members or administrative officers for faster and secure connection to their data, and free Internet

access for all students in classrooms, library, and/or cafeteria.

Your objective is to fulfil the accessibility, connectivity, and availability of a wireless network for its

intended group of users. You will need to investigate a set of tools including WAP or WAP2 to

provide a high level of security. The detail should also include advances in IEEE802.11a/b/g/n

andIEEE802.11x in wireless LANs.

Production function: Y = A·K·N – N2/2 Marginal product of labor: MPN = A·K – N. where the initial values of A = 8 and K = 10. The initial labor supply curve is given as: NS = 20 +9w. a) (10 points)   Find the equilibrium levels of thereal wage, employment and output (show work). In the space below, draw two diagrams
vertically with the labor market on the bottomgraph and the production function on the top graph. Be sure tolabel everything including these initial equilibrium points aspoint A.
(15 points for correct and completely labeleddiagrams) We now have numerous changes to our economic conditions (all isnot constant). Think of all these changes happening together, thatis, we go from one state of economic affairs to a different stateof economic affairs. Below are the changes. The labor supply changes and is now: NS = 24 + 9w. K goes down from 10 to 8. b) (5 points) What could cause such a change in labor supply? Please give
two specific and
wellsupported reasons. Be sure to explain your answer. c) (10 points) Solve for the new equilibrium values of the realwage, employment, and output and label as point B. d)(10 points) Explain why exactly why the firm changes theirbehavior… again

Analyze the disciplinary content (history) in its own context and in relationship to the issues,… 1 answer below »

Description of the Core Assessment Instrument

This Core Assessment will be a paper that covers 100% of the Core Learning Outcomes. The Core Assessment in this course will be a case study paper of no fewer than 5 pages and no more than 6 pages, using one of the following chapters from Warfare and Culture in World History: 4 or 8. The cover sheet does not count as part of the 5-6 pages. The paper will include a 100- word abstract stating the paper’s thesis and a brief description of the case study plan. The paper will include analysis and appropriate documentation of at least three sources (encyclopedias and Wikipedia are not appropriate sources), using the documentation stylesheet of the student’s major. The course contains lots of great sources to use for this, from the main readings and lectures to the bibliographic sources contained in the main readings. The paper will tie to each of the five course CLOs. The paper must address a significant contemporary issue of a global nature relevant to the course, will synthesize disparate views, present proper grammar and punctuation, tie to the student’s major and the Liberal Education program. The paper should synthesize multiple disciplinary perspectives and propose critical and creative responses. The paper will be due as a Word attachment by 11:59pm (CST) of the last day (Sunday) of Unit 7.

This assessment is designed to assess primarily Core Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and will make up 20% of the course grade.

  1. CLO: Analyze the disciplinary content (history) in its own context and in relationship to the issues, questions, and positions of other disciplines (literature, psychology, sociology). ILO: Analyze the American Civil War and the Great War as watershed moments in regard to both war and culture (military history, literature, psychology, sociology).
  2. CLO: Compare and contrast differences and similarities among the disciplines (history, literature, psychology, sociology) in terms of central concerns, values, methodologies, and relationships to public life. ILO: Evaluate the American Civil War and the Great War regarding military and political concerns, values, methodologies, and relationships to public life and cultural concerns, values, methodologies, and relationships to public life
  3. CLO: Synthesize diverse perspectives to achieve an interdisciplinary understanding. ILO: Synthesize historical, literary, psychological, sociological, and political perspectives regarding war and culture, using the American Civil War and the Great War as case studies.
  4. CLO: Analyze the relationships among academic knowledge, professional work, and the responsibilities of local and global citizenship. ILO: Analyze the relationships among historical, literary, psychological, sociological, and political knowledge, professional work and the responsibilities of local and global citizenship regarding war and culture.
  5. CLO: Evaluate multiple perspectives, modes of inquiry and expression, and processes for decision-making in the disciplines. ILO: Evaluate perspectives, modes of inquiry and expression, and processes for decision-making in history, literature, sociology, psychology, and politics regarding war and culture.

Core Assessment Paper Rubric: – 100 points total:

Relate to each of the course CLOs: 50 points (10 per CLO – 10 for exceeds expectations; 7 for meets expectations; 5 for does not meet expectations)

Use of course content: 10 points (10 for exceeds expectations; 7 for meets expectations; 5 for does not meet expectations)

Synthesis of disparate views: 10 points (10 for exceeds expectations; 7 for meets expectations; 5 for does not meet expectations)

Address a significant contemporary issue of a global nature relevant to the course: 10 points (10 for exceeds expectations; 7 for meets expectations; 5 for does not meet expectations)

Writing conventions and documentation: grammar, punctuation, documentation: 10 points (10 for exceeds expectations; 7 for meets expectations; 5 for does not meet expectations)

Connect to student’s major: 10 points (10 for exceeds expectations; 7 for meets expectations; 5 for meets expectations)

Steps to complete this assignment

  1. Select chapter 4 OR 8 from Lee’s book as your case study. Read it carefully.
  2. Based upon your case study chapter selection, examine the case study through the lens of the CLOs of this course. Analyze how the case study reflects each of the CLOs. For example, we have examined the sheer numbers of death in the American Civil War in relation to the CLOs. We examined the cultural, psychological, and literary aspects of those deaths as stated in CLO.
  3. You should examine your case study through the lens of each CLO. You should synthesize the disparate views of those involved – historians, civilians, writers, soldiers… You should address a significant contemporary issue of a global nature relevant to the course. You should draw connections from the case study to your major, emphasizing the importance of the relationship of war and culture for responsible citizenship at local and global levels. Finally, you should use at least three sources in support of your ideas, documenting them correctly both internally and externally, using your major’s stylesheet. Ten percent of the grade will address writing conventions – grammar, organization, punctuation. Please see the scoring rubric for specific details of application of points.
  4. Include a 100-word abstract identifying your case study selection and the case study author’s thesis and main points. The abstract should be at the front of the paper, on a separate page. This page does not count as part of the 5-6 pages of your own analysis.
