Please see notes on the following edit/review needs. I have attached the doument needing assistance as well as the templete mentioned in the request:

Please transfer into the DT5.0 format. The formatting for chpt 3 is incorrect and missing sections.Now it is really important to get the TRIO in line. You will need to have a research question, purpose statement and problem statement (along with the elements that are described in the Dissertation Template instructions. You cannot go forward without that piece situated. Make corrections to the three sections (make sure you are using both the RQ template and the instructions in the DT5.0). NOTE: your research question needs to reflect your area of concentration (i.e. healthcare leaders?) Once the corrections are made, copy and paste the paragraph for the Problem and the paragraph for the Purpose into the introduction for Chpt 3. Then write out the paragraph that introduces chpt 3. In the Research Traditions section, please review the suggested pattern for writing the information. While you have most of the facts the discussion about the Methodological fit is missing. And you do not seem sure of the research design you plan to use. You must have a peer reviewed source that states more research should be done on your topic.

Chpt 2: Please review the notes at the beginning of this chapter. The literature review should be framed by the research question/ problem statement. Right now often the lit review reads like a series of annotated bibliographies. There is very little compare and contrast regarding schools of thought or the different methods and findings of the authors . Please see pages 6-8 in the Dissertation Checklist to see what is expected in the lit review. Be sure that your conceptual framework is built with one of the models in the symposium slides.

In chpt 3, the research question needs to be aligned with what is in the RQTemplate and with the other 2 parts of the TRIO. In addition you need to be very clear about the Population and Sample (which are still left out of your chapter!) You said in the abstract that you wanted to interview 20 people. You have not provided any justification for that, and it doesn’t seem to fit the parameters of phenomenological study which you suggested in chpt 1. In the Sampling procedures section, you mention that you will be doing a survey research study. Surveys are part of the quantitative tradition, not the qualitative tradition. You would need considerably more than 20 people for survey research, and for phenomenological research you would probably not need more than 10. So I am thinking that you need a lot more information before you make the critical decisions. It would be helpful of you were to review the live chats from earlier in the term on Methods and Methodology and the one on Population and Sample. There is important information that seems to be unclear , from the way you are presenting your chpt 3.

In the instrument section, you revert back to the Phenomenological study as your research design. The interview questions need to be drawn directly from the research question and you also need to explain how you will develop the interview protocol. There are resources there to help you. There are specific instructions in the DT5.0 (which I have carved out for each section). Please open your DT5.0 and read the expectations for each section. In addition, please open the Dissertation Checklist to see what the Reviewers will be expecting.

However, the population is not the number of people that you, personally, have access to. It is the number of people who are in the area (let’s say Northern NM) who do the type of work that you want to know more about. So you are on the right track when you say that that are 47,000 radiology technologists in the US. But then, when you start stratifying your possible participants 5 of these , 6 of those, 5 of these other…. you are shifting your focus away from a qualitative and moving into the real of the survey research where you might be comparing the answers of one group to those of another. For that to work you would need to have 30 of each type of occupational role that you wanted to survey. BUT…. you say you want to interview these people. In the qualitative study, especially one in which you are very interested in the types of experiences someone has, the number of interviewees is 8-12 (See Creswell, 2014, p. 189 where he talks about the number of people needed to achieve saturation — the point at which the answers are pretty much the same. He says it is 10). So you need 10 people who ares similar in their interactions with patients. And, you do not need more than 10 unless you have a research paper that justified more people in the participant pool. One reason is that every interview should be 60 min long. To get the interview transcribed costs $1 per minute ($60). 10x$60=$600. 20 x $60 = $1200. (And for the most part you would find that the additional 10 would have very little to add to the discovery). In addition, it takes 4-6 hours of focused concentration to do the preliminary analysis, conducting the open coding, axial coding, selective coding and the other analysis tasks within and across the 10 transcripts. You do not have a lot of time to get all this done!

Another thing to remember, you know a lot of the people already who can meet the criteria that you have defined for your participants. In qualitative research, you can just tap them on the shoulder and ask them if they would like to participate. These do not have to be people who are unknown to you, or who come from anonymous data bases. Make this easy on yourself. Think about who you know— maybe 12-15 people (just in case people you think about are not available). These people would be selected with a purpose in mind and would meet your set of criteria. AND, for heaven’s sake, do not invite anyone prior to receiving the approval on the IRB application.

If you want to consider how people in different roles or whose interactions with patients have different levels of intensity, then those would be great suggestions for future research. It is not necessary to exhaust all possibilities in your dissertation! Thanks for including the references.

Transform the 2 numerical features (age and education_years) into 2 (nominal) categorical features. Specifically, use equal-width binning with the following 3 bins for each numerical feature: low, mid, and high. Once you do that, all the 5 descriptive features in your dataset will be categorical. Your dataset’s name after Task 1 needs to be df_all_cat. Please make sure to run the following code for marking purposes:

# so that we can see all the columns

pd.set_option(‘display.max_columns’, None)

print(df_all_cat.shape)

df_all_cat.head()

###

# please run below in a separate cell!!!

for col in df_all_cat.columns.tolist():

print(col + ‘:’)

print(df_all_cat[col].value_counts())

print(‘********’)

HINT: You can use the cut() function in Pandas for equal-width binning.
