CASE STUDY
Ballarat Dentistry
Ballarat Dentistry provides general dental, orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry services.
Patients travel from all around Ballarat and outlying areas to receive treatment. The group
provides services to new patients and ongoing patients.
All new patients commence with a comprehensive exam provided by a dentist. The
comprehensive exam includes a periodontal and dental exam of gums and teeth. Examination
of jaw and jaw joints, assessment of bite, and smile analysis. Ongoing general dental patients
are recommended to have a comprehensive exam every three to five years. The
comprehensive exam takes 1 hr and 30 minutes to administer. General dental patients are
given x-rays on site, while orthodontic and cosmetic dentistry patients are sent to an off-site
for specialist panoramic dental x-rays.
All ongoing patients are provided with full findings from the comprehensive exam by the
dentist, these findings have been carefully examined and analysed to provide a full report of
what is going on, what might be causing the problem, ways it can be treated, short term
options, long term options and how the dental work can be managed. All ongoing patients are
given a schedule of care, a copy of their x-rays, and a dental care package containing a
toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash and dental floss. It can take up to seven (7) days for
specialist panoramic dental x-rays to be provided to the clinic. This session takes about 45
minutes.
