3. Andrew’s problem. An economy produces three goods: cars, guns, and blueberries. The price of each is $2.(a) Households buy 5 houses and 45 apples, eating them. The government buys 5 guns. There is no other economic activity. What are the values of the different components of GDP (consumption, investment, government spending, exports/imports)?(b) The next year, households buy 5 houses and 45 apples. The government buys 5 guns. Farmers take the seeds from 5 more apples and plant them. Households then sell 5 apples to France for $2 each and buy 5 bananas from Mexico for $4 each, eating them too. What are the values of the components of GDP?(c) Return to the economy in part 3a. The government notices that the two richest households consume 20 apples each, while the ten poorest consume one each. It levies a tax of 15 apples on each of the rich households, and gives 3 apples each to the 10 poorest households. All other purchases by households and the government are the same as in (a). Calculate the components of GDP.

Charlie wants to calculate his gross monthly sales commissions. The rule is that he receives a commission of 2.5% of his total monthly sales if he sold more than $400,000 worth of vehicles. Otherwise, he only gets 1.5% of his total monthly sales amount.

In cell B31, create a formula using the
IF function to check whether the value of cell
B9is
greater than400000.

If this condition is true, the function should multiply cell
B9by
2.5%to determine Charlie’s commission. (
Hint: For the if true value, use
B9*0.025.)

If this condition is false, the function should multiply the value in cell
B9 by
1.5% to determine Charlie’s commission. (
Hint: For the if false value, use
B9*0.015.)

The average rainfall in a small watershed (total area: 1.271 km2) is 50 inches per year over the recent ten years; the average annual net surface stream flow (inflow minus outflow) is 432 mm (total volume divided by the watershed area); the average annual net groundwater crossing the watershed boundary (inflow minus outflow) is 0.3 ft. The average change in storage each year is (+) 16551 acre-in. On an annual average basis, what fraction of rainfall is evapotranspiration? Would you please help with a step by step solution with Java Programming Chapter 4 Case 1 “Carly’s Catering”?

    a. Carly’s Catering provides meals for parties and special events. In Chapter 3, you created an Event class for the company. The Event class contains two public final static fields that hold the price per guest(35) and the cutoff value for a large event (50 guests), and three private fields that hold an event number, number of guests for the event, and the price. It also contains two public set method and three public get methods.

Now, modify the Event class to contain two overloaded constructors.

One constructor accepts an event number and number of guests as parameters. Pass these values to the setEventNumber() and setGuests() methods, repectively. The setGuests() method will automatically calculate the event price.

The other constructor is a default constructor that passes “A000” and 0 to the two-parameter constructor. Save the files as Event.java.

    b. In Chapter 3, you also created an EventDemo class to demonstrate using two Event objects. Now, modify that class to instantiate two Event objects, and include the following new methods in the class.

Instantiate one object to retain the constructor default values.

Accept user data for the event number and guests fields, and use this data set to instantiate the second object. Display all the details for both objects.

    Save the files as EventDemo.java
