You must design and simulate the combinational logic required for a BCD to 7-Segment Decoder with the following items: I. Compile a truth table for the BCD to 7-segment decoder 2. Derive minimised logic equations showing the dependence of the decoder outputs ‘a tog’, on BCD inputs ‘A to B’. in NAND only form. The method for minimisation must be the Karnaugh map. 3. Illustrate your circuit designs using a schematic diagram created in ISIS. 4. Simulate your circuit designs from ISIS using Proteus V&A, to confirm correct operation. 5. Produce appropriate PCB layout for the design using Proteus. 6. Document your results in a report and submit your report.

Forbidden Anagrams

Valerie Pie is interested in something she learned in her combinatorics class called anagrams. An anagram is a rearrangement of letters to form a new word or phrase. The words and phrases don’t need to make sense, but they can. An example anagram is Travis Meade can become Varied Meats. Valerie wants to make anagrams of her name, but she realized that some anagrams contain bad words as substrings. An anagram is forbidden if it contains at least one bad word as a substring. Help Valerie count the number of non-forbidden anagrams of different words for phrases.

Problem Valerie will give a word or phrase, and a list of forbidden words. Compute the number of non-forbidden anagrams.

Input Specification The input will begin with a single non-empty string of at most 12 lower-case, Latin characters, s, representing the phrase, of which Valarie want the anagram count. The next line will contain a single non-negative integer, n (n 20), representing the number of bad words. The remaining n lines will contain one non-empty string of at most 12 lower-case Latin characters. Each of these strings represents a bad word.

Output Specification The output will consist of a single integer, k, representing the number of non-forbidden anagrams of s.

  1. 1.Identify the places in the code where there are object-oriented concept violations, content coupling, common coupling, control coupling, and stamp coupling situations. In the Directory Management System Submission Document, paste the code segments that correspond to each situation and explain how you would fix object-oriented concept violations, common coupling, control coupling, and content coupling issues.

  2. 2.Refactor the code to remove the object-oriented concept violations, common coupling, control coupling, and content coupling issueswithoutremoving any intended system functionalities.

During the current COVID-19 pandemic many countries have imposed quarantine on their

populations in order to limit/ stop the spread of the disease and avoid overload on the health

system. While these measures are justified from the health perspective, they have major economic

consequences. In this assignment you are asked to analyse different economic aspects related to the

COVID-19 pandemic.

Part 1 (20 marks)

GDP and unemployment

a) Analyse the effects of quarantine on GDP, employment and the unemployment rate. Which

industries are likely to be most affected and which industries are likely to be least affected

by quarantine measures?

b) Choose any country that introduced quarantine as an example. What was its GDP growth

rate in 2018, 2019? (Indicate the source of information.) Is this country likely to be in

recession this year? Refer to two definitions of recession.

c) Are your answers consistent with (general) Okun’s law?

Part 2 (20 marks)

Inflation

a) What do you think would happen to inflation in your chosen country in the coming year?

Explain.

Review and evaluate the PPE disclosure of your selected companies which may include: •What range of measures is used to determine amounts for these items in the reports of the individual companies? •Do you think it is valid to add the items, given the measures used? •How would you interpret the total amount for property, plant and equipment in the financial statements? •Compare the measures used by the different companies for similar items. Are there any inconsistencies in how similar items are measured by the different companies? 2. Discuss the factors that accountants should consider when setting up company accounting policy relating to PPE. 3. The State of X imposes a tax on the income of any person domiciled in that state. The amount of the tax is determined as a

percentage of the income the domiciliary receives. The state constitution requires that state government have a balanced

budget, that is, expenditures authorized by the legislature in its annual budget bill cannot exceed projected revenues.

Projecting a shortfall of state income for the next fiscal year, the state legislature imposed a one percent surcharge on the

income of all domiciliaries who were not citizens of the United States. Guy, a citizen of Switzerland who was admitted for

permanent residence in the United States and whose domicile was in State X, refused to pay to State X tax authorities the one

percent surcharge on his income. State X prosecuted Guy under a statute making it a criminal offense to willfully refuse to pay

taxes owed to the state.

If Guy asserts as a defense in this prosecution that the one percent tax surcharge is invalid, and thus he does not owe it to the

state, the court should rule

A for Guy, since to tax aliens a greater amount than citizens for the same income constitutes a denial of the equal protection of the laws.

B for Guy, because a tax based solely on alienage intrudes into foreign policy concerns, an area of exclusive federal authority.

C for the state, because the state constitutional mandate to balance state government income and expenditures is an interest of the

highest magnitude.

D for the state, because payment of taxes is an essential attribute of participation in the political process.
