Tasks to be undertaken: AIM The overall aim of this assignment is to demonstrate that you have a clear understanding of Thermal Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Methods, and the role these techniques play in development of heat and mass transfer systems, the benefits associated with their use and the problems and limitations encountered when using these methods. The above aim is to be achieved through a written report, not exceeding 5000 words.

CASE STUDY 1 In a heat recovery system, Cold water enters the counter-flow helical heat exchanger at Tc,in oC at a rate of Am kg/s, where it is used to recover heat from engine oil that enters the heat exchanger at Th,in oC at a rate of Bm kg/s. For the bench mark case use a pitch distance of 100mm for the helical coil. Each student will generate 2 case studies – A bench mark case which corresponds to the boundary conditions in the table below – ( Use the row that matches the last ID of your student P No). And another case where you optimise the design and operation of the heat exchanger. The objective is to optimise the rate of heat transfer, within the constraints of 1m length and a fixed outer shell diameter of 250mm. Flow rates must be realistic!

The calendar we used today is known as Gregorian calendar, which came into effect in October 15, 1582 in some countries and later in other countries. It replaces the Julian calendar. 10 days were removed from the calendar, i.e., October 4, 1582 (Julian) was followed by October 15, 1582 (Gregorian). The only difference between the Gregorian and the Julian calendar is the “leap-year rule”. In Julian calendar, every four years is a leap year. In Gregorian calendar, a leap year is a year that is divisible by 4 but not divisible by 100, or it is divisible by 400, i.e., the Gregorian calendar omits century years which are not divisible by 400. Exercise 4 [15 Marks] 

Ø Address Book Entry. Your task is to create a class called “AddressBookEntry” that contains an address book entry. The following table describes the information that an address book entry has. 

a. Provide the necessary accessor/getter and mutator/setter methods for all the ivars. 

b. You should provide a constructor that will initialize ivars with the supplied values from the client. 

c. Also provide a “public String toString()” method that will return a string in the following format: 

“Name: ”+<name>+”tt Address: “+<address>+” tt Tel: “+ <tel> + “ttEmail:” + <email>; 

where <name>, <address>, <tel> and <email> should be replaced by the receiver’s current state or field’s values. 

Save this class in a separate file called “AddressBookEntry.java” and compile it.

A recent policy was implemented by Anytown’s Department of Job and Family Services regarding the issue of child endangerment. Any household that has one or more documented offense of domestic violence, child abuse, or drug or alcohol related offenses committed by the mother, father, guardian, and/or caregiver, will result in the removal of any child or children from the home.

The child will be placed in the care of the state, or foster care services, until documentation can prove that the offender has undergone any or all of the following, and has thus been “offense free” for a period of no less than 6 months: Alcohol and/or drug treatment, counseling, family therapy sessions, mental health treatment, anger management, life skills classes, and/or parenting classes.

The Department of Job and Family Services made reference to the social learning theory as providing support for this approach, as evidenced by research indicating that “aggressive children have parents who use aggressive tactics when dealing with others. For example, the children of wife batterers are more likely to use aggressive tactics themselves than children in the general population, especially if the victims (their mothers) suffer psychological distress from the abuse” (Siegel, 2019, p. 148).
