Determine the performance of the companies and industry compared to market averages

Take two publically traded companies in the same industry, multinational corporations (MNC’s) including the industry. Review aspects of the companies and industry historically, currently and also your projection going forward a year. Analyze the companies and industry from the perspective of risks and topics that we discuss in the course. This can include but not limited to interest rates, credit market, liquidity, global, futures and options and other types of risks relevant to your companies and industry. You should include stock prices and performance going back up to 5 years to current. How and what markets are risky to the companies and industry and why? Determine the performance of the companies and industry compared to market averages. The risks and analysis of the paper should be your companies and industry specific. Try to keep the research of the paper as current as you can, including current events that are happening and related to your topics. You can be creative with your paper. Textbook chapters and the syllabus are a good reference place for you to include additional content and material.

This instructor approved assignment and the paper’s length should be based on the following rule of thumb. As a guide the length of the paper should be at least 15-20 pages, 12-point font, double-spaced, which include footnotes, appendices and references

Detailed Instructions

The PAPER should follow the structure of a research report that you might find in an academic journal.

· Introduction

· Method sections of a research report for an individual survey study.

· Results

· Discussion.

Introduction

The first paragraph of the Introduction section does three things. It introduces the topic (e.g., employee performance problems), explains why it is important (e.g., poor performance costs the economy $billions), and gives a very general statement of the approach to be used (e.g., survey of HR directors to get their views on why some employees have poor performance). Subsequent paragraphs provide background and detailed rationale for the study. Disciplines vary in how much detail is needed, e.g., health science journals might only have a paragraph whereas management journals can go on for 10 or more pages. For our purposes, you can be brief, but do provide some rationale for your study and what you hope to accomplish. It is fine to cite some literature if you have it, but it is not necessary. At the end of the Introduction there is typically a section on the current study which provides a brief overview of the study approach and links it back to the purpose. After reading the Introduction the reader should know what you want to accomplish, why you want to accomplish it, and generally the approach you will take. It should be explained what the population will be and why it is the relevant population.

Method

The method section should provide a detailed description of your survey plan.. The various sections of the Method should be as follows.

Sample. Describe the population you wish to sample, and what the characteristics are expected to be. You should address who you will survey and how many will you survey.

Be sure to discuss the ideal sample size. The size required depends on your purpose and the analysis you will conduct. For our purposes you can rely on rules of thumb (e.g., until saturation with interviews) or typical practices. With research grants you would conduct a power analysis to indicate an optimal sample size that gives an adequate chance of finding real effects, but doesn’t waste money with a large sample that is overkill. You don’t need that for this project.

Procedure. Outline your plan for conducting the study. What modality will you use for the survey? How will you approach your respondents, what will you request of them, will you offer incentives, and how many reminders will you provide? Walk the reader through the steps in data collection. If online, what platform will you use? If paper-and-pencil, how will you distribute and collect (e.g., U.S. mail or distribute in a meeting). For interviews, provide details of where you will conduct them, how they will be recorded, and how transcriptions will be produced. A reader should be able to replicate your study by following your plan.

Survey Instrument. Describe your instrument (and include it in an appendix). Include an overview of all the variables you want to study, and how you will measure them. If you have off-the-shelf measures, provide descriptions including the name, number of items, and response formats.

Analysis Plan. Give an overview of how you plan to analyze the data. Referring back to the Analyzing Survey Results section of Sub-Module 3, there can be different kinds of questions that you might answer with your analysis. Whatever you suggest, it should match your research question. Some might require statistical tests, but others do not.

Copy of Survey Instrument

At the end of the paper, include a copy of your survey instrument. Part of this exercise is for you to get the experience of assembling a survey. It doesn’t have to be long, but it should adequately address your research question.

Scope of Your Survey Study

One of the most difficult challenges in developing research questions is to know how big your problem should be. A problem that is too small can be trivial, whereas a large problem can be unwieldy. For example, if you ask the question, “Do women like chocolate more than men”, you could answer this with two questions—Do you like chocolate? Are you a man or woman? The scope of this is too small for our purposes. A better question would be if men and women differ in preferences for different ice cream flavors. You could ask about preference for a dozen or more popular ice cream flavors, which would allow you to determine flavor preference patterns between men and women.

Corporate compliance in health care:

Corporate compliance in health care:

Overview of Compliance Plans

A compliance plan is a medical system which identifies and balances through the reasonable efforts to identify the non-compliances issues according to the laws and the regulation and the trying to fix them and reducing the issue (Pascu 2016). In the simple terms, it finds an issue, fix it and then follow it to ensure it has been fixed. The compliance plan is a tool that is used by the healthcare’s everyday to ensure the compliance activities. In the context, we will discuss the privacy compliance plan and the research compliance plan together with their importance to the organization.

The research compliance plan is a plan with the main purpose of protecting the patients from the health issues. This is done by analyzing, planning and gathering the data that is important to the organization in order to improve safety, enhance protection and privacy, fairness and autonomy (Bedolla & Schlesinge 2016). The compliance is in cooperated to the healthcare mission, teaching, and the research itself in the different departments of the organization to benefit every individual in the organization by providing solutions to fix the health issues. By doing this, the whole medical center is given solutions to the problems and issues hence educating and benefiting the patients and the employees. This is done by the compliance plan as it analyzes and communicates the current research compliance standards to the research communities, leadership, and other departments that support the research compliance plan (Bedolla & Schlesinge 2016). Besides, it gives the oversights of the procedures and policies to ensure that the patients and other humans are protected. In addition, they also foster the collaboration of the healthcare with other institutions through HIPAA. Apart from these, the research compliance also provides assistance, coordination and leadership with the management of the agencies reviews, investigation and the audits. The main purpose of the research compliance is to find more of the solutions to the issues that are affecting the healthcare.

The privacy compliance plan plays the main purpose of protecting the personal information (personal health information) from the unauthorized access to the information (Johnston 2019). The plan makes sure that there is privacy in all the programs and the services. The privacy is performed to both the internal and the external environment related to the healthcare. The privacy compliance plan is associated with the programs, which supports the culture and the policies to ensure that the laws and the regulations are followed. In the current world, we are data driven and we ensure we are carrying out the ethical practices that are consistence to enable the protection of the individuals’ information. These privacy is done through the accountability of the organization in the monitoring of the data application regulations and the roles that are enforced both in the organization and at the country (Johnston 2019). Besides, they also facilitate and promote the understanding and the awareness of the rules, risks, and rights that are associated with the data processing and protection to the organization employees hence privacy. Also, they associate with the national data protection authorities for more efficiency and effectiveness together with the assessment of the data protection laws in order to fulfill the task of protecting the data. The main purpose of this plan to enhance privacy in the organization data both internally and externally.

The compliance plans are very important to the healthcare organizations. First, an effective compliance plan helps in protecting the organization practices from the abuse, fraud and waste among other liabilities. Secondly, it helps in the establishment of the organization culture which promotes the prevention, detection and the resolute the conducts which do not obey the laws, ethics and the policies of the organization (Bregman & Edell 2016). Lastly, it gives the commitment and the adherence to the laws and the ethics of the organization.

Clinical staff members are not washing their hands between patients

Hand washing is one of the most important procedures for preventing infections. Health care workers hands are mostly contaminated after activities such as cleaning wounds, cleaning patient’s excrement and touching contaminated surfaces in patient’s rooms. Bacteria from these activities can cause infections to other patients being handled by the health worker, to the health workers and even death in postpartum women during child delivery. To prevent these hospital-associated infections improving hygiene in the patient’s rooms and practicing hand washing regularly after every encounter with a patient especially after being exposed to bodily fluids, before and after contact with a patient and their surrounding will go a long way. Hospitals should provide more hand rub dispensers and create awareness to make hand washing a hard-wired habit.

Employees are not knowledgeable in the use of fire extinguishers

Almost all buildings are fitted with fire extinguishers in case of fire incidents but unless the employees know how to use them they are on no use to them. As much as every building has a fire extinguisher very few people are trained or ever used a fire extinguisher. Only a handful of people can operate a fire extinguisher in the event of a fire breakout. Employers should provide training sessions to their employees to make them familiar with the steps and principles of using fire extinguishers, they should also be conversant with the PASS acronym as a way to remember the steps in using a fire extinguisher and know where to find them. Fire engines might take time to arrive at fire incidents and having these skills will help reduce and prevent the spread and damage caused by the fire.
