Jeff Bezos continues to take Amazon in the lead of e-commerce and surpass their competition through investment in services that are integral in reaching their strategic goals of enhancing the customer experience. In 2016, Bezos announced his focus on Amazon’s fulfillment service and Prime, a membership subscription for customers (Kang, 2016). Amazon has invested in the construction of eighteen new fulfillment centers to meet the demands of increased membership subscriptions through Prime, which enables customers to shop more frequently without the added concern of shipping fees, and be able to respond efficiently during the holiday season. According to Levy (2017), Amazon chief financial officer (CFO), Brain Olsavsky, noted that a large percentage of Amazon’s fulfillment center expansion occurred in the latter half of 2016, which is where we see an increase in capital expenditures and investments (Nasdaq, 2019), and with further expansion goals for the last quarter of 2017 and moving into the new year. The company has investment in technological advancements that has allowed them to be efficient in the production and delivery of their products and services, further engagement of more customers, and increased overall satisfaction and ease. The company has released their own electronic devices; Many of their products feature their interactive artificial intelligence (AI), Alexa, and their highly efficient fulfillment warehouses are operated by robots. All these investments in technology has supported their commitment to their customers and mission goals. What I have learned from Jeff Bezos is his commitment to his customers and upholding Amazon’s mission, “To be earth’s most customer-centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online” (Farfan, 2017). What I have learned is that a strong mission can help guide innovation and growth.ReferencesFarfan, B. (2017). Amazon.com’s mission statement. the balance. Assume is Problem 18-51 (reproduced below) that Betty and Barney are not getting along and have separated due to marital discord (although they are not legally separated).  In fact, they cannot even stand to talk to each other anymore and communicate only through their accountant.  Betty wants to argue that she should not be treated as owning any of Barney’s stock in Bedrock because of their hostility toward each other.  Can family hostility be used as an argument to avoid the family attribution rules?  Consult Rev. Rul. 80-26, 1980-1 C.B. 66; Robin Haft Trust v. Comm., 510 F.2d.43 (CA-1 1975); Metzger Trust v. Comm., 693 F.2d 459 (CA-5 1982), and Cerone v. Comm., 87 TC 1 (1986).Problem 18-51 – Bedrock Inc. is owned equally by Barney Rubble and his wife Betty, each of whom hold 1,000 shares in the company. Betty wants to reduce her ownership in the company, and it was decided that the company will redeem 500 of her shares for $25,000 per share on December 31 of this year. Betty’s income tax basis in each share is $5,000. Bedrock has current E&P of $10,000,000 and accumulated E&P of $50,000,000.

Reply to this APA cite 250 wordsFactor analysis: When there are many interdependent survey responses to correlate and analyze, the data must be reduced into smaller sets of three to five factors. For instance, when studying a group of women their characteristics could include height, weight, hobbies, interests and activities. Factor analysis would reduce the five characteristics into two: size, combining height and weight and lifestyle, combining hobbies, interests and activities. In short factor analysis is a way to take a mass data and shrinking in to a smaller data set that is more manageable and more understandable. It is used to create a set of variables for similar items in the set (these sets of variables are called dimensions). It can be a very useful tool for complex set of data involving psychological, studies, socioeconomic status and more involved concepts.multilevel analysis: Many kinds of data, including observational data collection in the human and biological sciences, have a hierarchical or clustered structure. For example, children with same parents tend to be more alike in their physical and mental characteristics than individual at random from population at large. Individual may be further nested within geographical areas or institutions such as schools or employers. Multilevel data also arise in longitudinal studies where an individual response over time are correlated with each other. Multilevel models recognize the existence of such data hierarchies by allowing for residual components at each level in the hierarchy example a two-level model which allows for grouping of child outcomes within schools would include residuals at the child and school level.Multilevel models can also be used to non- hierarchical structures. For example, children might be nested within a cross classification of neighborhoods or residence and schools.Multilevel models have been used in education research or geographical research, to estimate separately the variance between pupils within the same school, and the variance between schools. In psychological applications, the multiple level are items is an instrument, individuals and families. In sociological applications, multilevel models are used to examine individuals embedded within regions or countries. In organizational psychology research data from individuals must often be nested within teams or other functional units.Ans 2) The adults for instance are the primary audience for information on the quality of Medicare plans. Also, some sponsors start out with well-defined target audience example patients with diabetes and then determine what information would be useful to them. While some primary audiences are fairly narrow example the employees of a specific set of employers or patients with a specific health condition. Your primary audience may be very broad e.g. all consumers in the state. One key downside of a broad audience is that it is hard to design a report that works for everyone. The most significant audience could be the segment that representsIf your primary audience is people with Medicare, secondary audiences include the adult children, who may be helping their parents make health care decisions, or the insurance counselling services that help beneficiaries identify and understand their options. If you are a business coalition producing a report on behalf of member employers, the health benefits managers at those companies are an important secondary audience for information aimed at the employees. Physicians are often a secondary audience for quality reports on hospitals or nursing homes. Methods used to communicate research result to audiences:Communication techniques: Government agencies and institutions, advocacy groups, media organizations, researchers, and other interested stakeholders can all carry out communication activities. They use various techniques to communicate evidence so that target audiences can understand it better. Hence communication techniques fall into the broad area of health communication and focus on making evidence interpretable, persuasive, and actionable.Dissemination strategies:Dissemination is the targeted distribution of information and intervention materials to a specific public health or clinical practice audience. The intent is to spread knowledge and associated evidence-based interventions. Dissemination has several very broad goals 1) to increase the reach of evidence 2) to increase people motivation to use and apply evidence. 3) to increase people ability to use and apply evidence.Communication uncertainty:Uncertainty is inherent in health and health care evidence and can limit its use. Uncertainty creates multiple challenges, including difficulties 1) determining whether preventive services and treatments should be implemented in clinical practice. 2) determining for whom in what settings preventive services and treatments should be implemented 3) communicating evidence so that consumers can make informed decisions. By optimizing the presentation of uncertainty, evidence, creators, synthesizers, and disseminators can enable people to make the best possible decisions.Strategies to disseminate evidence that will:

PH 101 Introduction to Philosophy Towson UniversitySpring 2018 K.A. WilsonTopic

PH 101 Introduction to Philosophy Towson UniversitySpring 2018 K.A. WilsonTopic Selections for First PaperThe student will write approx. 1000 words, either on one of the topics below or on an alternate one that has been approved in advance by me. Every paper must have a thesis and give evidence of thoughtful consideration of themes from readings presented in the course. Use of standard written English is expected. The first paper is due Friday, March 12th, 2018 (or any time before that).1. Read Aristophanes’ The Clouds. It is available online at least two translations, one at Project Gutenberg (http://www.qutenbero.orq/files/2562/2562-h/2562-h.htm) and a more modern one put online by its author (htto://johnstoniatexts.x1Ohost.com/aristophanes/cloudshtml.html). you may also, of course, find it in the library. Compare and contrast the picture of Socrates in the play with the picture of him we get from the Plato dialogues we read for class. Are they recognizably the same person? Is Aristophanes’ version the one the Athenians were trying to execute? (Would such a man deserve it?) Etc. Your essay should give evidence of the fact that you have read The Clouds (not to mention the two dialogues we discussed in class!) — in fact, you should write the essay, like any essay about particular texts, as if the audience were an intelligent stranger who may not have read those texts. Your synopses and quotes in the paper must provide all the context for whatever conclusions you draw.2. Read a dialogue of Plato besides Meno & Apology. Crib:, which begins in our text on p. 512, is a good choice; however, there are many other possibilities, readily available online in older translations and easily obtainable in the library as well. These include Ion, Lysis, Laches, and Gorgias. (But DON’T choose any of the other Plato excerpts from our text, as they aren’t complete dialogues) Compare and contrast your chosen dialogue with Meno. Consider subject matter, themes, Socrates’ method, the sort of conclusion arrived at, etc. Your essay should give evidence of the fact that you have read whichever dialogue you choose (not to mention Meno)— in fact, you should write the essay, like any essay about particular texts, as if the audience were an intelligent stranger who may not have read those texts. Your synopses & quotes in the paper must provide all the context for whatever conclusions you draw.3. Can you think of an individual in today’s society (either U.S., or global) who is a Socratic gadfly? Choose one and defend him or her as a kind of modern-day Socrates, referring to the Platonic texts we’ve read for support. Note that this should be a specific individual that people have heard of, NOT a generic class of people (“high school teachers”), and NOT someone from your personal life (“my high school govemment teacher”) whom it is unlikely I will have heard of. Also note that I am fully aware of which famous person’s name comes up first when you Google “modem-day Socrates”. You may write about that person, but don’t just rely on some five-year-old Time magazine article as your source.4. You may suggest an alternate topic. Obviously, the general subject is Socrates/Plato and the role of philosophers in society.
