What is going on during the asymptomatic phase of HIV infection?

Chapter 5 described the progression of AIDS, from the initial infection with HIV to the late stages of the disease. There are a number of interesting questions to explore. There are also quite a few symptoms and opportunistic infections that are characteristic of AIDS. In this discussion, each of you should focus your post on one of these topics, something that you found to be of particular interest.

Below is a list of examples of topics, but you can also introduce one of your own:

What is going on during the asymptomatic phase of HIV infection?

How can patients help to delay the symptomatic phase of AIDS?

Choose one of the symptoms of the progression of AIDS, as shown in Table 5-1a on p.72 of the textbook. You can type any one of those symptoms into google and you’ll probably find some you-tube videos. Be sure to include HIV as a keyword in your search. Do some research on that symptom and describe it in your post.  Describe what is going on in the patient’s body. You might include some preventative steps or treatment for that symptom.

What are the main critiques of the Adaptationist Programme?

Read the article by Gould and Lewontin (1979).  This article presents a  critique of the way evolutionary biology was evaluating selection and  adaptation. This article spawned a major turning point for the field.   It provides the notion that some traits arise simply as a structural  byproduct of selection on other traits. This means that observed or  inferred functional differences cannot always be equated to adaptive  changes.

After reading this article, write a short essay describing how this idea  of constraints impact evolution and the way in which researchers should  study evolution. What information would Gould and Lewontin need to  justify calling a trait an adaptation? What are the main critiques of  the Adaptationist Programme? How important do you think the evolutionary  history of the species is when considering if a trait is an adaptation?  How important do you think constraints are to the process of evolution?  Explain your reasoning for these opinions. Be sure to relate back to  the readings, lectures, and/or videos that you watched in Modules 2 and  3.

 Requirements
One-half to one typed-page, single-spaced, times new roman, and 12 point  font.  DO NOT GO OVER ONE PAGE.  Include your name and your section  number at the top of the page and upload your assignment as a Word  document by the due date. Be concise and logical in your writing

Considering what we have learned about natural selection, is it okay for doctors to over prescribe antibiotics?

Considering what we have learned about natural selection, is it okay for doctors to over prescribe antibiotics? Do you think we have the possibility of creating a “superbug” that we cannot treat? Doctors know this, so why do they “overuse” antibiotics? What about farmers who feed their livestock antibiotics so they grow faster?

Please include the name of the person or question to which you are replying in the subject line. For example, “Tom’s response to Susan’s comment.”

(ALSO PLEASE REPLY TO ANOTHER STUDENT‘S COMMENT)⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

No, I think that antibiotic should not be overused and it is inappropriate such as taking antibiotics to treat viral infections and to bears a heavy responsibility to creating the antibiotic-resistant of superbug crisis that they are facing today. I feel that we should not create something that we do not have any control of. The spread of superbugs is like people who are sick, hospitalized, or living in a nursing home is a growing concern. These kinds of germs develop when people and animals use antibiotics they don’t need. In some cases, even when some doctors agree that antibiotic overuse is a major problem or know that the drugs are not appropriate for a specific condition, they may not think their individual practices, or those of peers in the same medical specialty, contribute significantly to the problem. That means that using antibiotics as minimally as needed to fight bacterial infections and to keep animal’s healthy. In the past farmer was using antibiotics to help their lives stock and to promote faster growth.

Did this course meet your expectations? What did you like the best about this course?

Considering what you have learned about your body, your ecosystem, and how living organisms interact with each other, what are some steps that you can do to improve your body and life on Earth for all organisms? Make sure you include specific examples discussed in the course.

Did this course meet your expectations? What did you like the best about this course? What suggestions can you offer to improve this course for future students?

Please include the name of the person or question to which you are replying in the subject line. For example, “Tom’s response to Susan’s comment.” ALSO PLEASE REPLY TO ANOTHER STUDENT‘S COMMENT ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Considering what I have learned about my body, the ecosystem, and how living organisms react with each other, some stops I can do to improve my body while at the same time improve life for all organisms on earth would be to stop eating poulry and bring awareness to the suffering of animals in response to such a high demand of U.S> meat consumers. This could stop a lot of cncers and diseases as these animals are raised unnaturally in terrible conditions to grow faster, larger and increase profit for the meat productions, and all to cover up the battered and bruised animals existence at the very end to shoot them up or dope them up with antibiotics, to merely cover up infections and malnourishment’s the animal endured during its life. If i could stop the consumption and bring awareness to what people are eating and how the meat people are eatring is being raised it can shed a light on the meat industry and hopefully encourage them to change the policy and tity the meat production up. This course not only met my expectations but surpassed as we were allowed as students creative feedback ans imput, which is overlooked and highly important in making a class course memorable. I will not forget the resources discussed in this class course and the interactions we had as a class, and the only advice I could suggest to you as a professor would be to remain diligent in your studies and refreshing your class work,  as to educate more students as we do need you .

Future of IT

Future of IT

You have just been hired as the chief informatics officer (CIO) for a new health system. The health system has 23 acute care facilities and 36 outpatient clinics. It serves as a regional referral center for three states in the Midwest.

Your installed base includes a vendor-supplied EHR from a national firm. Work on the data warehouse is just beginning. You have more than 300 varying applications across sites, including everything from a stand-alone pharmacy application for drug interactions to a cancer registry.

Your goal is to provide IT support for the organizational vision of being the premier health organization in patient safety for the region. One of the first things you want to do is to plan for the future of IT.

Given the information pertaining to the future directions of health informatics discussed in this chapter, select the two directions you want to emphasize. Describe these two directions in detail, providing a rationale for your choices. In your post, please cite any sources used, following APA formatting for citing sources.
