Objective:

In this discussion you will be able to identify an individual of a health care team and write about some significant areas of their occupation. This will include a description of duties, desirable personal characteristics, employment outlook and typical earnings for that health care worker.

Instructions:

  1. Use the most current electronic source: United States Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook.  United States Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook.
  2. Under the heading “Occupations” click on the Occupation Outlook Handbook” and then follow the instructions to find an occupation in health care
  3. It is recommended to use the same career that you will be using in your health care career paper. Examples include: “Registered Nurse”, “Diagnostic Medical Sonographer” or “Physician Assistant”.
  4. The post is to include: a description of their duties, desirable personal characteristics, employment outlook and typical earnings. Do not choose the occupations physicians or dentists.
  5. The posting is not to exceed two paragraphs.
  6. Express the information using your words (paraphrase) and provide an in-text citation and reference. Do not use direct quotes from the reference.
  7. Use the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th ed. format.
  8. Avoid plagiarism and do not copy and paste material from reference sources in your work. For assistance with APA 6th ed. citations go to the “Library Resources and APA Information” material provided in this class.

Focus of the Final Paper
For the Final Paper, you will be evaluating the public relations practices at an organization based on all the chapters in the course text. 
Develop a paper that answers the following questions based on the organization of your choice. You may pick any organization as long as your choice has information available to answer the following questions.

  1. Analyze how the organization used public relations to create a brand and influence public opinion.
  2. How is your selected organization adapting to the social media sites and other venues in the 21st century?
  3. Identify a crisis that the organization has faced or is facing and analyze how it was or is being handled by the organization (include an evaluation of the organization’s response to the crisis in your analysis).
  4. Compare and contrast the similarities and differences between the public relations campaigns of your organization and another organization. If your organization is for-profit, select a non-profit organization for your comparison organization, and if your organization is non-profit, select a for-profit.

Guidelines for Writing the Final Paper 

  • Paper must be eight to ten double-spaced pages in length, exclusive of Title Page, References Page, Appendix, References, Exhibits, etc.
  • Formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide (including title page and reference list).
  • Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  • Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.
  • Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
  • Must use at least six scholarly sources, including a minimum of four from the Ashford Online Library.
