Chapter 6 in Gaensslen

Assignment 4 – Chapter 6 in Gaensslen

no later than 11:40 p.m. of the Tuesday that the assignment is due.

Each assignment that a student submits is to be between a minimum of two full pages and a maximum of three full pages in length (no more, no less), with double-spacing, MS Word’s default margins, and 12 pt. Times New Roman font in MS Word format. However, each assignment is then to be saved and submitted as a .pdf file so that it can easily be opened and read.

The first double-spaced paragraph then follows below.  Please use at least three paragraphs per page.  Points are deducted for assignments that are not responsive to the topic, do not follow directions, contain poor punctuation, syntax, grammar, or spelling, or are not an accurate and thorough analysis of the topic. Footnotes, end notes, or a works cited page is not needed. Students are not to collaborate with or receive help from anyone else in these assignments.  See the discussion regarding academic misconduct below.

Each assignment is worth a maximum of 10 points and based on the Gaensslen textbook. Late assignments are not accepted unless there is a reason that I have approved. See “Makeups” in the syllabus. Try to submit assignments on the first day possible—Monday— instead of waiting until the last moment on Tuesday.

Assignment: Please answer the following:

Basic neuroanatomical structures (including the CNS and the PNS, as well as the structural packaging that protects the brain from the environment)

Imagine that you are working in a neurology clinic. One of the neurologists tells you that as his or her practice is expanding, he or she is having difficulty meeting the education needs of his or her patients. Part of this problem is explaining the basic neuroanatomical structures to the patients in layperson’s language so that they understand their diagnoses and their underlying neurological impairments. The neurologist asks you to create a written guide for the patients, including both the CNS and the PNS. He or she describes what the basic neuroanatomical structures are, where they are located, how they interact, and what function they serve.

He or she asks you to name the structures by using the correct technical language but to use layperson’s language as much as possible elsewhere.

Your neuroanatomy guide should cover the following:

  • Basic neuroanatomical structures (including the CNS and the PNS, as well as the structural packaging that protects the brain from the environment)
  • Locations of these structures
  • Functions they serve (what functions damage to these areas may affect)
  • How they interact

Be sure to explain the information in layperson’s language and use graphics and pictures where helpful. Use APA format when citing material from scholarly sources such as your textbook and online notes. Include a cover page and a reference page listing the resources you used to create your guide

Benefits of a Diverse Workforce

Benefits of a Diverse Workforce

Communication is of utmost importance in diverse teams. How a manager approaches a situation can determine the future direction of teamwork and ultimately the level of success achieved. When communicating with diverse teams, whether verbally, via e-mail, or in writing, managers need to consider the potential reactions as well as the intention of the message.

and the discussion of possible HR actions. Based on the review, develop a FEW page memo to the project teams addressing the following:

International HR is concerned not only with cultural differences between groups but also on the additional challenge of simultaneously working within different legal systems. This often means that all employees are not treated equally. HR is responsible for establishing and maintaining the delicate balance required to adhere to local laws while treating all employees fairly.

Review the international privacy laws for three different countries. You may begin your research at the following Web site:

  • What are the restrictive aspects of the laws you reviewed? How would these impact hiring and ongoing employment in that country?
  • As technology develops, what changes in the law do you foresee becoming necessary?
