Positive And Negative Emotions task Deadline 3/2

rack your experience of positive and negative emotions over 4 days this week.

Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper in which you address the following:

Did you experience more positive or negative emotions during the tracking period?

What did you notice about the range of emotions you experienced during the 4 days? What type of experiences generated the strongest emotional responses?

Explain the psychological benefits of positive emotions as discussed in this week’s readings.

Global challenges

Global challenges

Assignment 3b: Threats to the Global Environment Counterargument The members of the United Nations are impressed by your presentation. The information you provided has led to productive debates. There are now questions about prioritizing the issues at hand. Some of the countries are challenging your recommendations and questioning your reasons for not including certain other issues they believe are priorities. There are four remaining threats in the list of major global issues. Review the topics and reflect on two that you did not use in Assignment 3a. Defend your reasons for considering these topics to be less important than the issues you assessed in Assignment 3a.

Energy sources Civil warGlobalizationPoor health of entire populationsLack of educational opportunitiesCultural taboos Inappropriate uses of technologyClimate change

Choose two of these four threats and write one paragraph on each threat stating why each is less a priority to the health of the global environment than the four you assessed in Assignment 3a.Support your argument with at least three scholarly sources for each threat chosen (a total of at least 6 sources) that can be used to support your position that these two threats are less a priority than the four threats which you chose to assess in assignment 3a. Each counterargument should include: An opening statement describing the threat; Three (3) points that offer evidence which supports your position that these threats are less a priority than the four threats that you assessed in Assignment 3a.Please cite at least three scholarly sources in your argument.

Discussion Response

Discussion Response

Provide a 50-75 word discussion reply to the following post below.

My current profession is as a submarine mechanical systems subject matter expert for the United States Navy. On a daily basis, I am required to relay events leading to broken components, and what shipyards have recommended as possible repair efforts. These events can come in from multiple sources in order to portray the full event. I am responsible for relaying the events to multiple people within multiple organizations. In order to be effective at my job, my telling of the events need to be extremely precise, technical, and concise due to the amount of issues and meetings senior leadership have. With superb narrative skills, I am able to explain very complicated technical events to a wide array of people. Without these skills, there could be confusion at some point, leading to a possible incorrect repair of the component. This could extremely hinder a submarine. All of my communications, including verbal, are required to be precise and technical.

Airshow Day 2 Probability

Airshow Day 2 Probability

This discussion introduces you to normal probability via the calculated z-score. A z-score converts a non-standard normal distribution into a standard normal distribution; a standard normal distribution has a mean of zero and standard deviation of one.

Additional z-score properties and details are provided later in the course. For this assignment, what is needed is the capability to calculate a z-score and find its associated probability (see Table A-2 in your textbook). Here is an example:

Excel equation: z = (Your Score (X) – Mean)/(Standard Deviation) OR z = (X – Mean)/S.

Z-score and probability calculation example:

Assume Intelligent Quotient (IQ) scores are normally distributed with a Mean of 100 and Standard Deviation of 15.

Assume a friend has an IQ score of 130 (X).

The z-score is then calculated: z = (130 – 100)/15 = 30/15 = 2.00.

Find Table A-2 in your textbook. The probability (green shaded area) associated with z = 2.00 is p = 0.9772.

The probability of another friend scoring “higher” (non-shaded area) than 130 is: p = (1.0000 – 0.9772) = 0.0228 or 2.28%.

Scenario

Day 2 of the airshow arrives, and the weather is worsening. The temperature is 50oF, and strong thunderstorms are predicted. Continuing intermittent moderate to strong runway crosswinds (25 Knots sustained, with gusts to 40 Knots). Fortunately, all Day 2 flying sorties are accomplished with only minor incidents.

Your team collected these simulated data for Day 2 flying sorties: attached below

In Microsoft Excel, complete the “Airshow – US Military Aircraft Performance” table by adding the calculated column and row values for mean, standard deviation, and z-score column values (use Sortie 10 data as the value of “X” in the z-score equation); report your calculated values to two decimal places (i.e., 0.12). For reporting probability, use Table A-2 in your textbook and report the value of p to four decimal places (i.e., 0.1234).

Post the image of your spreadsheet into the discussion area along with a narrative of your findings before the fourth day of the module week to receive full credit.

Workplace Ethics

Workplace Ethics

Due Week 8 and worth 275 points

Overview

This assignment will give you the opportunity to choose a case study, and then write about the ethical implications and the impact of the events that are described. Each case study includes a set of questions that you should answer. You can choose either Case Study 9.1: Unprofessional Conduct, or Case Study 8.4: Have Gun Will Travel.

You will be graded on the following criteria:

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:

Analyze the questions associated with your chosen case study and discuss them using concepts you learned in this course.

Explain your rationale for each of your answers to your chosen case study.

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:

This course requires use of new Student Writing Standards (SWS). The format is different than other Strayer University courses. Please take a moment to review the SWS documentation for details.

Typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.

Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

Cite your textbook as a reference.

Include a reference page. Citations and references must follow SWS format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

Determine the considerations for and process of ethical business decision making to balance corporate and social responsibilities and address moral, economic, and legal concerns.

Analyze selected business situations using the predominant ethical theories, such as utilitarian, Kantian, and virtue ethics to guide ethical business decision making.

Determine the implications and impact of various civil liberty laws in the workplace, such as hiring, promotion, discipline, discharge, and wage discrimination.

Use technology and information resources to research issues in business ethics.

Write clearly and concisely about business ethics using proper writing mechanics.

Choose one (1) of the following case studies for Assignment 2:

Case 9.1: Unprofessional Conduct?

Located on page 342 of your textbook

Do you believe the Board of Education violated her right to privacy? Were they justified in firing her? Explain two to three (2-3) major reasons why or why not.

Was Pettit’s behavior unprofessional or immoral? Do you believe she was unfit to teach? Provide a rationale for your position.

If teachers have good performance inside the classroom, should they also be held to a higher moral standard outside the classroom? Explain why or why not.

Analyze five (5) behaviors you believe would show unprofessional or immoral conduct for a teacher.

Case 8.4: Have Gun, Will Travel…to Work

Located on page 312 of your textbook

Do you have not only a legal, but a moral right to own a gun? Do you believe that you have either a moral or a legal right to park a car with a loaded gun in a privately owned parking lot, regardless of what the lot’s owner wants?

In your view, do employees have either a moral or a legal right to park cars with guns in them in the company parking lot? What do you believe should be the property rights and safety concerns of employers?

Do you think state legislatures are right to get involved, or should the matter be left to companies and employees to settle?

Because the workplace is the company’s private property, the company could choose to allow employees to bring guns not only into the parking lot, but also into the workplace itself. Are there ever circumstances in which doing so might be reasonable? Or would the presence of guns automatically violate the rights of other employees to be guaranteed a safe working environment?
