10 minutes presentation

Current Issues Presentation – (30% of total points- 300 pts) For one class session selected by each group, each will select 1 news article (minimum of 750 words) to review for a 10-15 minute presentation about a social welfare problem and policy including political trends. Relate the issue to some aspect of the chapter due that day. “Current” refers to articles having been published within 10 days of the presentation date. News sources can be the New York Times, Washington Post, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Los Angeles Times, Columbus Dispatch or The Daily Telegraph. Report to the instructor which newspaper you will target a week prior to your presentation so a variety of papers are presented. You must fact check the information in your article and discuss any errors reported in the media using http://www.factcheck.org/ and http://www.politifact.com/and http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker.
